    Default Borderline Personality Disorder

I am wondering if any of you on here have suffered from BDP or other mental disorders and what effect eating raw had on your mental health. I have BPD and I notice a marked improvement--constant bliss even--when I am eating all raw and mostly fruit. If I eat so-called "healthy" cooked vegan, I begin to feel positively psychotic again. I am happy that I can for the most part regulate it through diet, but I would like to actually get rid of it all together. What's your story?

I've gone through my own situation where I'd figured out that my issue was physical rather than mental & that the mental aspect was just a symptom rather than a cause. I would say this is true for the majority of cases. This is not to say people don't need counseling or that life situations can't contribute somehow. But if they healed themselves nutritionally, most would find themselves able to handle life much better.

I found vigorously exercising twice a day to be a big key along with the raw diet. After being raw for so many years, I can actually detect what my body/brain needs at times. Before I couldn't tell the difference with exercising, now I know it's an extreme necessity.

I just added some info onto my website regarding the mental/brain connection & health/nutrition. It's something I've been studying for years and experimenting with. It's a work in progress, but hopefully it will be helpful to many having a difficult time finding solutions. I want to offer much more in this area because I don't think there's enough info and it seems to take awhile for someone to put all the pieces together.

You should watch, "Food Matters", if you haven't already. They address this! Best of luck to you on your raw journey!

Maybe this thread should be renamed mental health, so others will join in on the conversation. :)

I 've suffered depression for years but just recently found put I have borderline personality disorder. Finding out has shaken me so much and raised my anxiety levels that I can't sleep well and just keep stuffing myself constantly to try and numb my feelings. Before this I was doing so well on high raw now I'm struggling with "why bother " thoughts and it seems to hard.

How do I remotivate myself and stay focused. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

    Lyn,
Sorry you're upset about this recent news. One thing to keep in mind is that the labels given to various mental disorders isn't always accurate and definitely it isn't permanent, as we've been mentioning in this thread and various other threads. You can motivate yourself by remembering that it's possible to cure this yourself. Just like with depression there are plenty of natural remedies for BPD. There are also many support groups you may consider joining whether in person or online. Preferably ones that also believe in natural healing, rather than believing it's a lifelong sentence. Most importantly, don't allow yourself to make yourself worse by giving into the fear. We definitely can make ourselves sick with our thoughts and feelings. Abraham-Hicks material is great for learning to focus on the positive. There's free audio/video of them on youtube if you're not familiar with them. And tons of other internet & books available with all kinds of helpful info. Don't forget any local friends & family that can support you as well. Your kids are a great reason to keep fighting! :)

Increase your fermented foods to bring the gut into better bacterial balance. There is a book on it but I can't recall the author or title. It is not particular to BPD but depression and schizophrenia may be in the title. Research Gut and Psycology Syndrome- GAPS.

    Thanks for th info.
I'm going to get some books on positive thinking today.
Also am going to have a go at making raw nut yogurt. Been thinking about doing this for awhile and your suggestion gave me the push I need to actually do it.
