Thread: Help with Poop

    Question Help with Poop

I have a great dane and we have been feeding him raw for about a month now. I have grown to understand that loose poop means more bone and hard poop means less bone. I am trying really hard to follow the bone and meat ratio. lately however we are having a difficult time with poops alternating between powdery (gotta hurt) and diarrhea. but while it was one or the other I just altered food to try and make up for it but the last week or so his poop starts out powdery and then he has diarrhea all in the same poo...and it takes forever for him to feel finished pooping. I don't think of it as being sick because he isnt really pooing any more often than before. Any advice or help? Please!

give your pet a chance to get used to raw. changing it's food ratios on a daily basis doesn't help them. go back to your original recipe and feed it for a week and THEN slowly make changes.
