Broccoli is bad to juice...tried it once when I had a little left from making broccoli salad. I had to toss it cuz I couldn't drink it.

I think you two are right. Now, I remember how I stopped juicing broccoli during my last fast.

Made some more similar juice today, but since I hadn't yet seen your posts, I included the broccoli.

It had: 12 small carrots, 2 zucchinis, a bunch of mustard greens, 1/3 red pepper, handful of sprouting broccoli, 2 inches of ginger, cilantro, tiny bit of red hot pepper.

Today's juice is much tastier than yesterday's version. It's a bit spicy but tastes pretty good and I'm feeling the nutrition.

Also, the carrots and broccoli came from a farmers' market. You can definitely taste a difference with the carrots.

I'd rather eat vegan and look like a tree than eat cow and look like a pig.

I wish you luck with your fast. After I did my short one, I found I was unable to juice again for a week...lol.

Thanks laughalways. The fast is going well. It's much easier the second time around.

After my 30-day juice fast ended 2 months ago, I have been eating quite well and continued to lose a little weight on my mostly raw diet. The only bad thing in my normal diet was maybe a bit too much salt. So since my diet was clean and it hasn't been too long since my last fast, I have not gone through many detoxification effects on my current 10-14 day fast - maybe a little achey and not as much energy during the first few days, but now everything is fine. I feel lighter, energy levels are very good now, and my skin is really smooth.

It's day 12 of my juice fast. I've decided to do 14 day fasts every 3 months to keep me focused. Perhaps in the latter half of next year I may lenghten the period between fasts to 4 months.

My fast is going great, but one thing that I find a little difficult in fasting is that when nearing the end of a fast, my thoughts start going towards what I will want to eat once my fast is finished, and then I start craving those foods a little bit. It's nothing that some yummy juice can't take care of, but it is something that I've noticed, be it a 14 day fast or a 30 day fast.

Today was day 13 of my 2-week juice fast. Had watermelon juice for breakfast, then made 1.5 liters of apple, pineapple, lime, and ginger juice to drink for lunch and to drink in the afternoon. Then for dinner, I made soup from the juice of carrot, tomato, spinach, cabbage, broccoli, garlic, ginger, and a bit of a chili pepper.

Went for a 2 mile jog today and walked two miles more. A couple of years ago, I didn't think I would ever run again because I didn't think my body could handle it. I thought as people get older, they should only walk, play golf or whatever. Now I reallize it was probably due to my previous ovo-lactarian vegetarian diet that I couldn't run for more than 400 meters.

It's been about 3 1/2 months now that I'm vegan (~75% raw), and I feel so much better and so much more alive.
