Default Sept 2012 - 30 day raw challenge! Join anytime of the month!!!

    Welcome welcome welcome!!!

Welcome to the 30 day challenge and welcome to our new monthly format.

This is our monthly challenge thread. We are choosing to do one (or perhaps split into two) continual threads so we can create a community of support within this challenge. You can join this thread at any time during the month. Don't be shy... we love new posters!!! So if you want to join us... please do!

I welcome people who are already 100% raw to join in the conversation - supporting our challengers in their quest!

This thread is specifically for those of you who are eager to commit to 30 consecutive days of eating 100% raw foods and seeing miraculous results!

I will start a new challenge thread on the first of every month. If I forget... send me a quick email and remind me... I'll get the challenge thread online for you quickly.

The focus of the monthly challenge is on staying raw and accountability. Therefore, if you have eaten all raw and then slip up and have something cooked, don't beat yourself up over it or dwell on it - but this is not space to discuss it. You are more than welcome to document it in your journal/blog or ask for help in the discussion area, but it is not necessary (and not allowed) to discuss your slip-up here in the challenge threads, just get right back on track and keep going! This thread is about celebrating what you are eating that IS raw!

I welcome you all to share pics of your dishes, ask questions, share what you are consuming (as long as it's raw). We are here to listen to your emotional and physical challenges. So share share share!!!

OH and the best part of this (not only the support but...) you can subscribe to this thread and get notified every time someone posts to it. This way you will be connected!

So let's get this party started!!!

Today I was 90% raw and have been trying to be at least that for the last month. I'd like to make the move to full raw, so this will probably be good for me to join :). I look forward to "meeting" everyone else who joins too.

Another month to get my teeth into. Hello everyone. I'm hoping this month will be an easier one for me. We should be getting our new caravan soon and that will mean an indoor kitchen. Looking forward to no dust on all the plates etc. When the wood burner is installed we shall have the means to keep winter at bay too. Looking forward to fruits and salads mostly today.

Hi!!! My name is Renee and I'm happy to be here another month enjoying the benefits to being completely raw!!! I'm a HUGE snacker!!! So I wanted to start off by sharing one of my absolutely favorite snacks: dehydrated Pineapple!!!!

Of course it is wonderful fresh, but sometimes I feel like having something sweet, dry, and crispy and this fits the bill for me!!! Actually, I do eat it both ways, but I love it dehydrated! Not the store bought stuff....make it yourself! Just cut it, lay it on your mesh sheet, then enjoy it the next day! Yummmmm!!!!!

I am coming over from the August thread. I am at day 20 being 100% raw.

I tried making raw bread with cauliflower. OMG don't do it. Dehydrated cauliflower smells like hot garbage (not joking). I was in denial and thought it would be okay after it cooled down. I made a sandwich with almond butter, raw honey and walnuts. It went right in the trash. Eww yuck - never again. It was too bad too because the texture was perfect. It was just like bread. oh well. I have a batch of the zucchini version in the dehydrator now. Hopefully it doesn't spoil this time.

Anyway, have a good day everyone and good luck. :)

Yeah it was my creation. You should try my pizza sauce. It's killer. Once I get my Excalibur, I'm gonna make some big ol' pizza crusts. I cannot wait.

I'm at Applebee's right now. I will either have a salad (hold the meat, hold the cheese, hold the dressing) or just sit with a glass of water.

For lunch I had zucchini noodles with my pizza sauce (my new addiction).

    Breakfast was fruit.

Greetings also to RedCedar, MysticTree and new person. :)

High raw again today. Lots of lovely raw stuff though. I just need a few more herbs to go in my herb bed. Anyone noticed how the spam levels are preventing or smothering genuine new threads. It's all old timer threads.

Zucchini or courgette for us UK people noodles are as damned near pasta as pasta is in my opinion. I also use beetroot and squash which I put through my spiraliser. We had courgette and beetroot spaghetti last night with red onion, lettuce and pea shoots, tomatoes, pumkin seeds and hemp sprinkles. We had to imagine avocado coz I forgot to get any. Nectarines are good just now and we had some raw chocolate too. No nuts for me yesterday but I just remembered a pot of kale chips I bought. Very nice but not my favourite sort.

    Just post in here. :)

I started day 21 with a bunch of fruit this morning (peach, nectarine, few small plums and a banana). I am kind of hungry now. Not sure what I'll eat.

Raw bread has me pissed off. The zucchini has this weird, bizzar funk to it. I found a raw bread that uses "psyllium". Maybe I will get some of that and figure out what's up there.

Anyway, off to have some lunch. Good luck everyone

Yea....I'm not too into the raw breads either. The one in LOLF on page 352 (Pizza bread) is pretty good though. You can use it for wraps and it's nice and thick. I don't care for Sprouted Wheatberries, so none of the "breads" that uses that are appealing to me.

You know...you CAN use your Dehydrator for wraps and Breads. The secret is to make them small 6" size that will fit in the space using the Nasco dehydrator. If you make bread slices and not try to make a loaf, it'll work.

Last night I had some miso soup with veggies in it. I have some homemade saurekraut adn kimchi in the fridge I'm trying to get used up and I put some of the kimchi in the soup--very good.
So far today I've had tea and grape juice. I was looking through old threads and found Renee's sticky from her 60 day challenge in 2009 and now feel the need to make some new recipes, so I may get to that today. I would really love to get some stuff in the freezer for those times I'm just too busy or lazy to make something. Anyway, I have lots of fruits to eat and juice so I'll be making more juice and a green smoothie for today. Knowing you guys are here has already been a big help in keeping me on track and 100% raw.
