Exclamation Desperately need help healing with raw!!!

Hi all, I'm an otherwise fit, 20 and a half year-old male who has had all kinds of unusual health issues the last year or so. Everything seemed to happen at once...

    Here's some of my symptoms-

    • Swollen lymph nodes everywhere for months now that don't go down. (seeing an oncologist next week finally).
    • Major fatigue, hair thinning, dry/pale skin.
    • Possible kidney problems. (Low blood levels, pain, foamy urine)
    • Inflamed thyroid (dr says could be hashimoto's, waiting it out to see).
    • Muscle twitches all over my body everyday. (possibly thyroid related?)
    • Joint pain and swelling.

I have gone raw for a few days in the past but nothing ever permanent and this was way before I had any health issues.
I need to do something somewhat extreme I think to get this under control. I'm consider going 100% raw and doing coffee enemas to reverse everything but I really need guidance. I need to know what the best treament protocols are and healing methods with raw. I'm going raw overnight though... that's for a fact. I need my body to heal and have been getting the run around from doctors way too much.

I genuinely believe that whatever my condition is, it CAN be healed naturally. I just need some support from fellow raw foodies and people to talk to who have healed.

If you guys have any advice for me it would be very much appreciated, I'm a little frantic.

(btw, I'm not on any medications at the moment).

    -Martin

Along with raw foods you might want to look into taking turmeric. It will help with the joint pain.

Also, start drinking green smoothies on a daily basis. It's a great way to get a good dose of nutrients and calories!

If you are taking a lot of meds for your conditions, I would be very careful. Just remember that we are not medical people. All I can say is that going raw has helped me with health problems. Good luck.
It's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years.

I would really start it slowly. I understand you have such serious health issues but starting raw food lifestyle cannot be done overnight. Specially in your condition and because of how much medication you take now. Once you start eating raw foods all the toxins (medications, all the additives you ate before for the whole life, water and air, cosmetics and cleaning products, etc.) will start coming out of your body and since your kidneys are not working right you can be in huge trouble.

I'm Russian, so I have sources from both sides of the globe to study this thing and I'm trying to do it for couple years now. The reason I said that I'm Russian is that just recently I listened to several lessons of one famous Russian naturopathic doctor, they are available only in Russian language.

She has a health center where they treat people with complete program to heal people naturally. Her son is also such doctor, he is mostly about switching people to raw foods and he saw all kinds of things. I listened to him too. He said that when you want to transition to raw food lifestyle you have to do it slowly. His recommendations are to do at least 4 rounds of cleansing your intestine within a year, lasting from 1 week to as much as 8 weeks. All this time you do not eat meat, milk products and fried food. It is good idea to incorporate green smoothies into your diet. Cleansing is done this way: you do not eat, you drink as much as you want water and special herb tea made of 12 herbs (or equally combined 4 herb blend - expectorant, stomach, kidney stone, choleretic blends) with some honey and lemon juice and two times a day you do enema with some baking soda, salt and couple days later you switch baking soda to lemon juice. Once you've done this, you can do juice fast, then you can start eliminating cooked foods slowly.

These are not my recommendations and I'm not a doctor, that's why I did not give specific instructions of how to do this. So, please, don't jump on it without consulting anybody who knows such things. All I'm trying to say is with your health condition it can very possibly harm you and make you sick even more.

I'm not saying you have to do this program. I'm saying that you have to do serious cleansing before attempting raw food lifestyle and make your transition period more that one night.

if from birth we all ate raw greens / sprouts / seeds / fruits / water could you imagine how healthy and long lived we'd all be

so we know what has to be done , its a matter of breaking the old bad eating habits which is very difficult just like any other
unhealthy addiction such as cigarettes / cocaine / etc

and this is the person / book that convinced me i must constantly work at eating perfect / raw : http://www.amazon.com/Fresh-Vegetabl...d+fruit+juices

Thank you all for your responses. I'm currently *not* on any medications, so no concerns there. I am committed to going raw and changing my whole lifestyle with yoga, exercise, deep breathing, meditation and of course raw food. I will definitely look into those books Roman and also trying to turmeric (thanks walnutty), you learn so much just from asking. :)

Any other suggestions would be appreciated!

Hi Martin! You are definately having adrenal gland/kidney/thyroid (usually goes hand in hand with the adrenal glands) issues and your lymph system is clogged up. Look into very informative videos on all of this on Dr. Morse's channal on youtube - justs type Dr. Robert Morse ND. He is one of the greatest healers of our time. I would book an appointment with him (you can do so via skype or phone if you don't live in Florida). The fee is pretty inexpensive and if you still can't afford it, then I really suggest you watch his videos and you can also leave a comment and he will answer your question through his videos. I hope this helps. I have 100% faith his guidance will heal you.

    Look into Adrenal Fatigue.

Once you clean your whole body out especially your lymph system/adrenals/kidneys... Your body will start to regenerate itself back to it's natural state of wholeness and perfect health. You must start this process by detoxing and it takes 6 months for the cells to detox. By detoxing I mean a high level of fruit, greens juices, veggies, herbs and no nuts or seeds and especially nothing on the SAD diet. Just the above mentioned while your on your way to dusting off the residue that's causing these issues.

I have similaar issues as you Martin... I got Dr. Mores' book from the library and its amazing. By doing what he says(which is a little more than just eat raw), I am feeling better. I too did not want to take all the drugs (I never did) and instead I'm getting healing naturally through raw foods.

It might be helpful if you described what your recent diet has been like (leading up to and through noticing the symptoms you mentioned.) I say this because there are certain foods which are linked to increased risk of thyroid problems and aggravation of underlying previously undiagnosed disorders. Chief among these is all things fried and processed carbohydrates (and worse, fried carbs).

Going raw would obviously get rid of that potential source of thyroid aggravation, but they are some additional foods for which it may be advisable to avoid them whether they are served raw or not. Among these are broccoli, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, spinach, and mustard greens; you may or may not be able to tolerate varying small amounts of these foods without aggravating an inflamed thyroid. Those foods are normally extremely healthful and would not cause irregularities in an otherwise healthy thyroid but can exacerbate and further complicate thyroid function disturbed by an underlying disorder. Just as strawberries would be an inadvisable choice for someone with a dangerous strawberry allergy, certain otherwise healthy food choices might not be advisable for someone with a disorder causing thyroid problems.

Your doctor is correct in considering Hashimoto's Thyroiditis. though that may or may not ultimately be the issue or only issue. If they are correct about that though then the symptoms you are experiencing which are not attributable to it could be indicative of another condition which Hasimoto patients are at increased risk of - Lupus. Both of these are autoimmune diseases and would cause all of the symptoms you describe; though this is not conclusive enough for a diagnosis because many other things could cause similar symptoms.

In general, diet can be incredibly powerful in helping to manage autoimmune disorders. In cases where diet and lifestyle are enough to manage without medication this can be preferable due to the lower risk of side effects and complications. Be acutely aware though that this is not always the case depending on the severity of the disorder, damage potentially already done, and the specific genetic causes. Even if you find you do need some form of medication to manage, a healthy diet will still be a critical part of treatment.

Once your doctor does narrow down the possible causes (at least determining whether it is an autimmune disease or something else) you may want to ask for some general dietary advice. They probably won't be particularly helpful when it comes to raw foods, but they should be able to help create a list of dietary needs above/beyond what one might normally need as well as tell you what foods specifically should be avoided because they are known to aggravate certain autoimmune disorders.

Also, if you are currently eating a significant quantity of raw or sun-dried mushrooms you may wish to consider holding back a little - particularly shitake. While they are powerful nutrient sources and even show very strong anti-carcinogenic activity in some studies, they can exacerbate existing kidney problems as they have been associated with an increased risk of kidney stones in such cases. Shitake mushrooms also demonstrate immune boosting properties and can be useful in assisting your body when fighting against certain viral infections. In persons with an autoimmune disorder though, increased immune system activity can be the very last thing you want. While your doctor might not have been particularly helpful so far, advising you as to whether shitake mushrooms might exaggerate your symptoms is something they should be able to if you take the initiative to ask.

Good luck with your raw diet; the cutting out of certain carbohydrate and oil sources is a good idea in general and may be particularly beneficial for you given the inflamed thyroid. Also while your doctor might not be helpful in suggesting natural ways of managing or repairing the conditions you describe, they can be a highly useful and competent source of information if you take the initiative to ask well researched and pointed questions regarding specific foods and your specific symptoms.

I would strongly suggest considering other natural anti-carcinogenic foods before seeds containing amygdalin (the compound of interest in apple seeds and apricot pits.) For example:

    http://www.latestagecancer.com/2011/...ve-cancer.html

The compound amygdalin, and several derivatives, had received attention as potential cancer treatments. Rather than being non-toxic though, this consideration was made precisely because they are toxic and seen as a potential source of chemo therapy drugs. Just as with chemo therapy, the idea was that even though metabolizing amygdalin produces cyanide, that it would prove more toxic to cancer cells as kill them sooner than healthy cells. Since much of this process is concentrated in the gut however, the toxicity is not effectively limited to cancer cells nor has it been demonstrated as particularly effective even compared to other poison-based cancer treatments.

Major fatigue, hair thinning, dry/pale skin.
You may want to look up at your parathyroid. Without question, your kidney could be weak. It could be your adrenal also.

If you tend to be pale etc... you can be low in B12 which lead to be iron deficient etc... fatigue.

Supplementing B12 may not be necessary the solution.

If i was you, i would detox and rejuvenate my tissues. So many way to do this but research and do what resonate with you. Always go with fresh and live food (vegan).

    You can reverse your condition.

Something simple, look at your water. If you don't filter your water, do it. What you don't filter, your body will. Our water might be safe from bacteria but there is a price regarding the chemical they use. Some city use only chlorine (if so, you can let your water sit for 20 min and it will evaporate), if they use chloramine (mix of chlorine and ammonia) then this is very bad news, it doesn't evaporate.

Keep upgrading your life style and know that your body is powerful and it will heal. Give yourself permission to be happy now.

    All the best!

p.s Make juice or smoothie with either parsley, dandelion, plantain etc.... they are great for the kidney. I am not a doctor, please research

I agree with everyone above in saying that you should definitely start slow. Too much detoxification in too short a time can actually hinder your progress!!! When I was really sick - I had many people advise fasting. By the second day, my kidneys began to shut down. Fasting was simply too extreme a detoxification approach for me. My suggestion would be to eat 60-70% raw foods and 30-40% cooked foods every day and see how you feel. Adjust according to how you're doing. No detox symptoms? Up the percentage of raw foods by 10% for the next week and see. You will get to 100% when your body is ready :-)

Have an extreme motivation to get well? Absolutely. Be extreme with your body? No - be LOVING :-)

Wishing you lots of luck and fabulous health in your future!
