    Default Hi I'm Jessica! :)

Hello everyone! My name is Jessica. I found the raw, vegan diet just over a year ago. In January 2011 I was diagnosed with systemic candida. I was always exhausted, poor concentration, poor memory, kerotosis pilaris (red bumps all over my upper arms), hormone imbalances, a poor immune system, I was always irritable and crabby, especially in the mornings, and I had a pretty much constant yeast infection for nearly a year straight. After I found the root of these problems I was started on the Candida Diet. I began to feel great and my systems slowly receded over the next 2 weeks. Week 3 and all of my systems came back with a vengance! I didn't know what to do as I had tried everything the doctor could prescribe plus the prescribed diet and nothing was working.

That was when I found the raw, vegan diet online. It made so much sense as I read through website after website on the diet. I decided I had tried every other option so I might as well give it a go. The first week was hell! lol It was like the worse flu I had ever had combined with coming off of a caffein addiction from drinking too many red bulls. All of the sudden, after about 5 days on the diet, I woke up feeling AMAZING! I had so much energy! I couldn't believe I was bouncing out of bed in the morning for the first time in my life! :)

By the end of my first 2 weeks on raw my symptoms were ALL gone! It felt so liberating! After about a month on all raw, and 2 weeks of feeliing phenomenal, I got silly and started reintroducing cooked vegan food back into my diet. Soon after that I was eating dairy and wheat again. All of my symptoms from before started creeping back. When I realized how unwell I was feeling I again turned to raw food. And again, like a magic wand was waved over my body, I felt so healthy and vibrant!

I have repeated this cycle a few times over the past year, the last was intentional to document and research the changes for a book I'm writing. Now I am back on a 99% raw vegan diet and I am sticking with it for life! I feel to incredible and I love myself too much to treat my body any other way now. It amazes me how something as simple as changing my diet can have an enormous positive impact on every aspect of my life! I am happy and loving life! :)

Thanks for reading my story! So many of your stories have inspired me throughout the last year of my life and I am really grateful for this site and all of the wonderful people on it! I look forward to getting to know you all more! :)
