    Default Green Smoothies for babies

Hi, I've been absent for quite a while. I'd like to know if it's ok for a 9 month old to have green smoothies. I made some yesterday with beets because his iron is low. I don't know why I'm concerned for him to have raw veggies and beets, but I am. Is anyone else doing this?

I was nursing so i only start for my child to go on solid food (smoothie) at 15 month.

I would give a little bit of fruit. Typically, until your child has teeth, we shouldn't give any solid food. You can try to make it tastes little bit of thing but i wouldn't do vegetable just yet. They are harder to digest and especially cereal. It is none sense to give cereal to a baby, i had no clue but it makes perfect sense now because their digestive system isn't fully develop and you want to go with something easy.

Once you child is older, you can give a try with a smoothie that i gave to my daughter at 15 month (1/4 cup of hemp seeds, 2 cup of fresh berries, 4-5 bananas), use enough water to blend.

After 2 years old unless your breastfeed still which is great, a child should be out from any regular milk.

Hemp seeds is rich of essential fatty acid, amino acid and fruits are amazing for children. They contain the sugar they need, packed with vitamin and essential amino acid. As your progress with the food, you can add soaked goji berries and chia seed.

At almost 4 year old, my daughter got a blood work done (at the time, i was still providing my milk from a pump and she refuse to eat anything else then the smoothie prescribed and her blood came back fine and no deficiency, she was a little low in b12 and vitamin A but right after she started to accept more different food and it is then, that i added the goji berries and different fruits).

All the blessings with your little one!

Find the Monarch's on you tube (The Raw Food World TV Show). They started giving their baby girl, Oria, green juices and green smoothies at 7 months, I believe.

Just be aware about giving green when they are young, they will start to teeth very fast. If you think about it, you need teeth to chew greens. So even though it is in smoothie or liquid, the body doesn't know the difference. My daughter, started to teeth right of way, i had to slack off with greens, she wouldn't want anything with that and only her fruits smoothie. She refused to eat and she couldn't take her milk by any way except from a dropper. She was too much in pain and she didn't talk then. It was a nightmare and a very stressful time for me as a mother. She lost so much weight during that period but thanks goodness when she started to accept smoothie again, i back off with the greens and start to listen more to her needs.
