Default New to Fasting and this forum!

    Hello!

    My name is Jess.

I am 23, 174cm tall and weight 110kg! I ideal weight would be in the 70's... my whole life I have been overweight... had problems with binge eating and a feeling of lack of control. I have tried and then given up I have always wanted to be fit and healthy and have a body I was confident with. After watching 'Fat, sick and nearly dead' I have been considering doing a juice fast. I have brought a juicer and have been using juice along with my normal diet and can already feel the benefits. I want to go completely juice though. I have been struggling to stay away from the bad foods though. I give in usually late at night studying and tell myself I will start properly the next day. Its a never ending cycle of failure and is rather depressing. I so badly want to get down to a healthy ideal weight but it seems so far away. Like in reality it will never happen. I would love to hear some tips on how to stick with it and also if you have successfully lost a large amount of weight through juicing I would love to hear about it.

Thanks for taking the time out to read this.

    Welcome Jess!

Looks like we both cut our teeth on the same movie! To keep motivated keep visiting this forum, keep watching movies similar to fat sick... Also here is something I look at to keep me strong during a fast, the first part Aleesha (a seasoned faster/mod/coach) posted:

    Here's my commitment:*

I'm here to fast. I'm not here to eat. I will fast until I choose to stop but I will NOT stop my fast on a bad day, at night or today. I can choose to break my fast tomorrow in the morning but not today.*

    I'm here to gain health.
I'm here to gift my body the time and energy to bring my body to a state of health.
I'm here to release - whatever needs to be released. Physical, emotional, conscious or unconscious out-moded things... I'm here to release them all.*
I'm here to bring a greater depth to my spirituality.*
I'm here to support myself and anyone here who wants support.
I am here to continue to be mindful - focusing on this moment and not anticipating the next one.
I am here to share my experience and gain knowledge from what others share.
I'm here to feel whole. I'm here to give my beautiful, cherished body a break from digesting food!!!

    Reasons to do fast:

    Lose weight
    Feel lighter
    Feel in control
    My skin looks better
    Have more energy
Fall asleep quickly, wake up alert with less sleep
Get more done, less time eating more time doing
Save money (less electricity, less on food)
