Default Is a centrifugal juicer good temporarily?

I'm looking at a remanufactured breville that is $100. I really want to do green juices with a lil fruit for detox and weightloss. I would like to see if I've got what it takes to stick to a fast before I spend a lot on a masticating juicer. ( unless of course, I can get an inexpensive masticating juicer?). I sure hope I'm using the right word. Lol. Anyone know if this one will work for a year or so for these purposes?

I've been raw 6 weeks. By the way

the amount of money you will spend on produce using a centrifugal juicer will pay for a masticating juicer in less than a year.

but a centrifugal juicer is better than no juicer!

A centrifugal juicer is not great at juicing greens. Yes you can get a cheap masticating juicer; check out the manual healthy juicer. You have to turn the handle yourself but it's cheap, quick to use and dead easy to clean.

A centrifugal juicer is way better than nothing!

If I had $100 budgeted, I would buy this for $50

This centrifugal juicer has a year warranty so this combo should last you a year while you learn what you want and save up!

This one looks better than the manual juicer I linked to and would still fit the price range she was talking about! Nice!

Does the suction cup really hold it down well enough?

I've never used just the suction cup. I always use the clamp as well.

That's the juicer we have. The suction cup is quite powerful and we never bolt it to the counter we just use the suction cup. We can even do carrots with no problems so I'd say it's a good one. Soon I will test it on wheatgrass but MT does her wheatgrass with it so it must work just fine. :)

It actually handles the wheatgrass better than just greens etc.

Thank you guys and gals for replying. After the work you went through to find those juicers and link them, I'm almost embarassed to say that i talked to my husband and he said I could go ahead and purchase the omega 8004. I'm very excited!

I bet there is a stickies thread here that I should read first!

One question. I'm on a should I expect to gain on a raw food diet after a fast, much more than the 5 lbs of " waste?"

Nice! Nothing like jumping in the deep end! Don't be embarrassed. A discussion like this is not just about one person's needs. It is about the community really. I, for example, became interested in upgrading from my $30 manual juicer to a $50 manual juicer. Not right away, mind you, but it may happen at some point.

Remember that a "juice fast" is not a fast, in the sense that you are not taking in calories. There are, in fact, people who juice all of their food, all of the time. How much solid food you refturn to and how quickly, it totally up to you.

Well. I like the quality of juice they comes out of my omega but it seems like I'm juicing and cleaning all day. I'm actually considering a breville (compact) after all. Anyone have both a masticating and a centrifugal juicer?

ive had both plus a champion which is sorta between the two , plus the manual one from greenstar i cant remember name of right now .

A#1 = the juice from my omega 8005 tastes better than all of them , way better , because it turns slow and doesnt froth juices up as much because of so . where as a centrifugal froths the heck out of things and the fast speed whipping the air / froth into juices changes their taste . plus the centrifugal way more of a pain to clean than my omega . theres NO WAY ide change my omega 8005 for a centrifugal

though im not promoting this juicer because had one and didnt like a few features on it , im just posting it because with a few design adjustments and material and fit upgrades this would be a great manual juicer imo . and maybe day comes its designs improved . http://www.amazon.com/Tribest-Z-Star...s=zstar+juicer
