Default Tired right after a juice - ANY advice REALLY appreciated

    Hi everyone,

I have been juicing for about 2 weeks, 2 juices per day between meals.

My problem is I am finding that I get extremely sleepy / tired right after a juice, but I am not sure why.

A typical juice would be -

    1 apple
    1 big handful kale
1 big handful spinach or greens
    1 piece broccoli
    2 carrots
    1/2 avocado
    1/4 cucumber

I would REALLY appreciate any help and advice anyone could give me, as I thought juicing should give me energy and I REALLY want to stick with it forever.

Do you think I should cut out the fruit completely perhaps?

Fats make me sleepy, so I save em until later in the evening. Fruits always energized me and my juice was always a mix of greens and fruit. I think the greens energized me too, but I never just juiced the greens so I really don't know on that one from my own experience.

I'd say cut out the avocado for a while and see if that helps. If you're adding it in to help slow the digestion of the juice then a banana will also work in this regard.

Can you all imagine the abundant world we would live in if we all planted the seeds of every plant we ate. You wouldn't be able to throw a stone without hitting a fruit tree or berry bush or some fruit/vegetable bearing plant. Imagine the bees that would thrive in such an environment. I see a world.....................

Sounds more like a smoothie than a juice. I think I'd leave out the ago and see if that helps.

You are detoxing. I would also consider to let go the avocado, fat makes it harder on your kidney when you are detoxing. You will be ok soon and have a boost of energy. If possible, try to rest.

You may want to consider a colonic therapy or do a home enema. It would help with detox and ease the symptoms.

    All the best!

Hmm interesting... I assume you mean you are making a smoothie and not juicing as there is an avocado there in the mix. I would agree with people who said try it without the avocado. It sounds like a pretty large smoothie, but I am not that experienced with smoothies, I am more of a juicer. There is probably a lot of fiber in all of that as well if you are making a smoothie. Maybe your digestion is working harder at that time or something...I am just shooting out ideas here and maybe someone else can comment on them.

If you do have an actual juicer...I would suggest trying to make a juice out of all of that...except for the avocado of course...See how you feel after that juice. Good luck with experimenting and finding what resonates with your body best.
