    Talking Greetings from Texas

    Hello all!

1st off I want to thank this community as its been a valuable resource on my previous juice feast! This forum popped up on the most specific of juicing questions.

Im from houston, land of steaks, been a vegetarian for 6 years. Im the friend/family member who always tries something different and takes it to the extreme, in a good way :-)

I'm starting my fourth juice fast soon and would greatly benefit from the support of this community. My first two fasts were master cleanses and more recently I did a 28 day juice fast. I miss the energy, sharp mind, clear skin, leanness, discipline, and being in tune with my body.

Oh and I couldn't resist the user name :^) still makes me laugh seeing it! I also go by Brandon.

Thank you Bonnie88, after a few days it seems like you're on autopilot!

Thanks for the warm welcome Frugal Raw, my neighbor to the north! Nice meeting you as well!

Have you hooked up with the Rawfully Organic Co-op down there? I am amazed at what they've done with it, being a non-prof and all! I'd love to start one up here like that.

Hey Brandon! Friend Joseph on FB - he will hook you up!!

Here's his response to me this morning:

introduce him to me so I can make sure he knows of the iron chefs... there is also a raw food meet-up... I haven't been... But I am a toxic/raw food cleanse coach and have coached over 100 folks through a cleanse.... and many other coaches around as well... so just send him my FB link and I will connect him....

Hey Brandon!! I attended this event in Dallas last night and it was AWESOME!!! Are you going to make it tonight? It's not too late to reserve your seat - the lecture is free, the film is only $5 if you want to catch it too (I own a copy, so I just went for the lecture and book signing). Hope you can make it!!!

Awwww! It completely slipped my mind! And I really wanted to go to this :^( which film was being shown?

    Thanks for the reminder :^)

I just purchased your book! Im going to do a juice fast in august and transition into a 30 day raw challenge after that. I just received Alissa's book so between that and your book ill have recipes to last a while!

I joined this forum for the fasting support but after reading all these miraculous stories I know raw is the way to go! I saw that you were vegetarian before transitioning into raw. I've been vegetarian For six years And the thought of eating meat feels wrong and is something I could never bring myself to do again. Does it feel the same way transitioning into raw from cooked food? Does eating cooked food feel sinful and wrong?

Im going to post this in another forum too!

Aw bummer!! I wish you could have made it!! The more you can do with others in this community, the stronger you will be.

As for your question about guilt - it really depends upon how you frame it in your own mind. There is a certain amount of disappointment anytime you miss a goal mark. Just don't beat yourself up over it and don't wait until the next day to start over. It's important to pick yourself up, dust yourself off and say, "no more of that."

On the issue of the transitioning mindset, yes, it is similar in the revulsion factor. When you stopped eating meat did it begin to revulse you to smell or be around it? That's how cooked foods will over time begin to affect you. Cooked foods looks like death on a plate to me. When I go to a grocery store, nothing on the shelves looks good even though my memories sometimes initially tell me "that thing used to be so good." I look at it and it registers that I no longer want it. In high stress periods I used to go buy a can of frosting or dairy ice cream and eat a large spoonful of it. Now to even think about it, I realize how much my palate has changed because the thought revulses me. Now when I think ice cream, it's frozen banana ice cream I want, and I can replicate just about any flavor!

Thanks for buying my book! I really appreciate it!
