That is what I was reminded of, yes.

So as it turns out, this was one of those occasions when I engaged brute force without fully and adequately engaging my brain. I was using the rod to force the wad of pulp out through the small hole instead of using the rod to force the wad of pulp back into the juicer. That is to say the big hole!

I did go to the hardware store and pick up an 8"x 1/2" bolt that I am using for my ram rod and it does make it easier if I give it a little tap with my hammer, but I will no longer be beating on it as hard as I had to the first couple of tries. As far as my plan to put the juicer in the fridge between cleaning. I am going to do it that way sometimes. Especially when I squeeze out a little juice in the morning before work. Otherwise I would most likely not take the time for juicing in the morning.

Doh! I assumed you were pushing it back in and taking it out of the input chute. Hehe, well at least you have it figured out now. I think it's a good idea to just throw it in the fridge in the morning. Better to do it that way than not juice at all in the morning!

That has made me chuckle. I too assumed you were pushing it back the way it came which is why I suggested pipe cleaners and dental picks!

My 1/2" steel rod is still the right tool for the job.
