I just found out my dad might have breast cancer. I told my husband, he said very flately, "Oh, that's too bad." and went back to playing on his computer. I just need a hug...

Here's a big HUG for you. My brother passed away from cancer a few years ago and I have finally made my peace with it. I wish he would have been more open to diet changes...perhaps your dad may be. I have read countless stories of how diet changes have helped people with cancer. Even if you search this site, you will find many examples.

My dad has soo many other health issues that just getting him to eat anything can be a hard. He is severely diabetic, and on a lot of medications. He is nauseous a lot of the time and doesn't feel like eating. I have had my mom make him fruit smoothies which he will drink sometimes (really hard to convince her not to add yogurt). He already has prostate cancer, the hormone treatments they gave him for that may cause breast cancer growth. He has a mamogram and ultrasound scheduled in about a week. My mom says he is very depressed and just wants to sleep. Thanks for the hug!

was just reading speculation that mercury fillings may drain heavy metal toxins into chest region and be a cancer cause

He had all of his teeth removed years ago in the military. Dentures. I still think it has something to do with the female hormones they used to slow the growth of his prostate cancer. He lives really far away from me, so I don't have any influence on his diet. My mom has always been a "feeder". She feels he is so sick that she might as well give him what he wants to eat, regardless of how good it is for him, as long as it gets food into him. A lifetime eating like this I'm sure is the reason behind 99% of his health issues.
