I choose not eat gluten even though I am not necessarily overtly intolerant. From what I have read, our system is not meant to process gluten.

Not offended at all, just surprised by the long response. I have read that there are no studies to show that gluten free has any positive effect unless you are coeliac. Mainstream gluten free foods, whilst considered healthy are no less fatty, sugary and generally nutrient poor. The general public however believe these products are healthier. I don't get why we weren't meant to ever eat wheat. We have been eating it for a hell of a long time.

Loads of information out there if you search. I think wheat should only be consumed as wheatgrass.

See, I counterbalanced my previous longer post with a shorter one now :)

I'm going to try growing plantain sprouts soon, I'll post my results in the sprouting! thread, heck maybe the sprouting wild seeds thread as will. That could become a wild seed version of the sprouting! thread with a little work. I probably won't post pictures although I'd love to (no camera and don't know how to upload the pictures anyhow), but I'll explain how I grew them.

Plantain was used as a "cure-all" for certain cultures before the advent of modern medicine, it should be interesting to see how the sprouts hold up.

Still waiting for the oxalis seedpods to mature, I want to try my hand at oxalis sprouts and see if they taste anything like the mature plant. I already sprout dandelion and clover, if anyone else has any other suggestions of weed seeds I could sprout it would be greatly appreciated.

^ The sprouting-relevant part of this post is also going in the "Sprouting!" and "sprouting wild seeds" threads, no need for any "Deja vu" comments :)

I had two yummy juices today! First, fresh squeezed orange juice and then fresh veggie juice (cuke, celery, carrot, tomato and turmeric)!

I am doing a juice fast...starting with 2 days. Right now I am drinking cucumber, celery, pineapple and grape. Earlier I had carrot, beet, spinach, parsley, cucumber and celery.
