Smile Narrowband UVB radiation, vitamin D3 production and skin quality.

    Hello fellow forum members :-)

Read quite a lot about differences between UVA and UVB and how it affects vitamin D3 production in our skin.
Hence this vital hormone is so critically important in myriads of body functions I started to become very curious. I always suffered from occasional spots or skin blemishes and what I noticed is that after brief session in sun bed my skin is showing temporal improvement.
I live in cloudy UK and obviously even without test I believe I'm very low on vitamin D3...also I'm a big hermit and spend most of the time inside anyway :-)

Sad thing is even in summer in this part of the world UVB rays are very rare and unless you live closer to equator you need to think of other methods.
Obviously suppliments are out of the question, they are toxic and body creates just over 90% of vitamin D3 through skin contact by these rays.

So my question is : does anyone have any experience with Narrowband UVB lamps ?
Check this link out, it is something I'm considering buying, but need more confidence and information to make this expensive decision 8-)

No experience with them, but if you spend a lot of time inside you could just switch to full spectrum lighting. It's more expensive then fluorescent (and less environmentally friendly), but both of those concerns are negligible compared to the fact the fluorescent lighting produces massive amounts of EMR and doesn't produce the full spectrum of colors. Interestingly enough, colors are nutrients and people can and have been treated of many diseases and conditions solely through color therapy.

I watched the Dr. Oz show yesterday (July 5) and he had Dr. Mercola on there talking about safe tanning beds that use UVB instead of UVA. I know Dr. M used to sell a tanning bed like he recommends on his site. You may be able to get more info on these from his web site too...
