Thread: Acne help!

    Default Acne help!

I've been basically on a 80- 90 percent raw food diet for the last year or two. My acne has gotten better, though I still get acne ONLY MY CHEEKS. It's weird. I'm not sure what's causing the problem ... I have green smoothies everyday and don't eat processed foods.

I also don't put weird stuff on my face.

    Suggestions?

My thoughts are: If you are older--and not at the age where you'd be typically going through the acne phase, then it may not be acne, but may be rosacea, which may be caused by candida.

If it truly is acne, then I believe acne to be related to hormonal issues AND due to drinking too little water. Make sure you drink a minimum of half your weight in ounces of water a day and make sure you're getting lots of good EFA's in your diet. No caffeine, little stress, etc. You could still be eating other healthy stuff, but missing out on the all important water and EFA's IMO.

^ You're still pretty young that it could be hormonal.

If you don't object to medicated products then I seriously recommend the regime on acne.org

I had acne from 13-20 then I started using that routine and my skin has been clear ever since (except when I run out of BP and have to stop the routine, then I break out all over again).

It's pretty cheap to get the products (the stuff on the site is really reasonably priced) and easy. You just have to spend time reading it all and follow it exactly. Everyone I know that's tried it had great results.

Just stay the course. If your blood is fresh and clean and "high test" courtesy of your raw diet, acne will be eventually eliminated.

echoyjeff222, you eat 80-90% raw. Does the 20-10% contain any animal fats? How much vitamin E do you get? What percentage of your diet comes from raw plant-based fats?

Cut out any animal fats, get plenty of vitamin E (almonds) and enjoy wholesome, healthy fats like avocados, chia seeds, sunflower seeds, walnuts, flax seeds, sesame seeds (tahini).

From 13 to 35, I had bad skin. Eating raw was the only thing that cleared it up 100%. My skin is now soft, smooth, healthy and even shiny. I think the raw fats really help in this area. Like a lot of raw foodist, I get 30-40% of my calories from these fats. They are very good for you too.

Here's my opinion.......you are probably consuming lots of fats....raw or otherwise. If you really want to know how many fats you are consuming consider recording everything you eat in a day for say a week and then look at what percentage of your diet is actually fat. Cronometer is an excellent tool to help you figure this out. Also get enough clean water throughout the day. I used to eat lots of raw fats, and I thought it was good for me, but found out that I couldn't function on high fat, and I still had a little bit of skin blemishes. Once I drastically cut out the fats I felt tremendously better and my skin cleared up in a matter of days. Cooked food could also be contributing to the issue.....cut out the cooked food and you will know for sure.

Can you all imagine the abundant world we would live in if we all planted the seeds of every plant we ate. You wouldn't be able to throw a stone without hitting a fruit tree or berry bush or some fruit/vegetable bearing plant. Imagine the bees that would thrive in such an environment. I see a world.....................
