Yesterday I bought a Lurch Spiraliser thingy. Really fab. If you are someone who likes al dente pasta then it's hard to tell the difference once it's marinated apart from the pasta being cold and I guess you could always warm it in the D if you have one. RobH, you get to do the whole fork twirling thing too which is half the enjoyment of traditional pasta. I'm going to make up a batch this afternoon with butternut squash, beetroot and courgette. I wish I'd picked up a celeriac at the shop this morning now though.Bought a bunch of raw crackers and kale chips for tonight. We are going up to a friends house to watch the opening ceremony of the games. I wonder how terrifically the Brits can mess up on this.

Redcedar, that sounds like one scary bowl of Chia! I don't get on well with chia. Even when I tried sprouting it I ended up with sorry looking stuff.

Wow Iv'e been feeling really sick because I got up at 7am this morning and ate and got back him at 3pm without eating anything in between! Right now chowing on a pineapple. Also some coli flower shaken in a bag with nutritional yeast.

Also we stopped at the health food store on the way back from setting up a craft show and I got: Raw chia seeds, raw hemp seeds (almost gone now making pudding) raw cacao, nutritional yeast, and raw cashews! And it all costed me $50.00 ;_; ............

MysticTree, it sounds like you're having fun with the spiraliser. :) what is a "celeriac"? We will be watching the opening ceremonies tonight as well.

Divine Soul, I have seen the "sugar in the raw." I do not know if it is actually raw. They are selling raw honey in the stores now so who knows - anything is possible. Also, $50 is about par for what you bought. At least you didn't have to pay shipping.

It's a big roughly spherical root with knobbly bits that tastes of celery. Great in salads and would work well on the spiraliser. Not sure what I thought of the opening so far. We came home early coz watching the teams was a little dull and our friends were flagging. Got stopped by police coming into our gate. They were cool though once they realised we had a key for the padlock. Of course we could have used bolt cutters on the old padlock and replaced it with a new one which we had the key for but he didn't seem to think of that!

Tomorrow I plan on starting a sauerkraut project. Got some cabbages, Kosher salt, Juniper berries (not sure if I will use these or not). I'm going to use an old crockpot container for the vessel.
I've always wanted to try this, and the raw sauerkraut is too expensive in the store. Should be fun!

Lost Track of days lol think

Wasnt hungry in the morning, but later starving (always am if I dont have my chia intake !)

Made guacomole with two advocados, crudites.

Later made some cheesy sauce , very basic but very good, cashews, lemon juice, water, salt and pepper although not technically raw as it had nutrional yeast in it, had it with courgette "noodles", I also have the lurch spiraliser Mystic, its great isnt it , ! Its suprising how pasta like the noodles are, apparantly one book I have recommends leaving them for 6 hours as the texture improves ..I've never been able to wait.

snowshoe let me know how your sauwercraut turns out, I love it, (and my kids do too !)was wondering to try some but think it stinks when breaking down !!..lol...??

Had a packet of crisps too tonight, my weakness, must try and find some decent replacement !!!

Wellcome to the challenge everyone else ! x

I leave them over night even. Courgette makes the most pasta like so far but I'd like to try it with kohl Rabi and celariac.Today I have totally decided that weight is unimportant. As long as I am eating good heathly food I am not going to try particularly to lose the weight society seems to think I should lose.Nice, organic cherries and toms and strawbs today and also an OM chocolate bar which is mostly raw.

MysticTree, interesting runin with the fuzz. I didn't watch the Olympics after all. Sounds like you are having fun making noodles. What are you putting on them?

Crystal, the raw fats keep me full. Avocados are awesome for getting full. Sunflower seeds, almonds, that sort of stuff. Chia seeds are fat. I know I'm weird but ground sesame seeds plus raw honey and agave makes a great snack that makes me full.

Today was my father-in-laws's birthday. I spent the whole day away from the house. For raw foodism, this isn't a food scenario. I solve the problem, I the meals I eat in a day with me. For lunch I had 2 bananas, an orange, 2 tangerines, half a small watermelon and chia seeds that I mixed into the watermelon (love that combo). Dinner was a spinach salad with tomatoes onions carrots and raw ranch. To finish dinner I packed the stuff to make guacamole. I packed celery sticks and slices of zucchini for dipping.

Everyone else had bad cooked food and I had to look at it. When they ate the traditional birthday dessert, I had nuts, dried cherries and goji square that I have hidden in the diaper bag for emergencies.

I prevailed despite the temptation. That makes up for last night, though, I went to make cabbage salad a few pages back and the cabbage was bad. I ended up slipping a bit.

    Good luck all.

Sounds as though you had a good day. My noodles are mostly just marinated with a little oil, vinegar and seasonings. Garlic is always good! I keep meaning to get sundried toms to make pasta sauce and keep forgetting. Food wasn't terribly important today. I ate plenty but it wasn't all-compelling. I sowed lots of soaked seeds and set some more soaking. Peas coming along really well and planted out some kale. The jet stream has moved again and we are back to rainy weather. I hope my sprouts don't mind too much. They've been enjoying the hot weather.

Well I have found a way to conquer all of my cooked food cravings and it actually worked all day! The cacao, nuts+seeds+mashed banana mixture with agave nectar I made this morning is amazinggggggggg! It is packed with yummy fats that satisfy the tummy and I have a spoonful when ever I'm craving :)!

    Good Day!

I'm still around. I haven't been posting much because all we have is a little mixed greens salad left, some sprouts and a few oranges to last us until the 3rd. My SO's contractor decided not to pay us so... we're sorta fasting because we have no choice. On the bright side I've lost 15 lbs in the last 4 days.

Welcome to all the new people that joined in. Sounds like everyone is still going well. Good job everyone!
