Wow, I didn't know Walmart was now carrying Thai coconuts. We'll have to look next time we go. I sure hope so, I've really been wanting to try one!

Rob, depends on what I eat if I get hungrier or not. If I include fats I don't, if it's just fruit usually I do. I do like papaya but I haven't had any in several years.

Lucky find on the shoes MT. I'm the same way, I hate spending money on new shoes. I think the pair I have now are around 8 years old. I only wear them outside though and since I'm disabled they don't get used a lot.

Crystal, grats on making it 30+ days! That's awesome! Btw, 15 lbs probably does sound like a lot but I have a lot to lose and I am feeling a bit better for having lost it. I didn't enjoy the tummy constantly growling much though. LOL

Thanks to MT we have food again for the week and our kitties won't starve either!

I'm so glad you and kits have food! 15 lbs is a lot even if you do have plenty to spare. I have walking boots that are about 6 years old and I bought them secondhand.

SunshineMN, 15 lbs is great. Sorry to hear about how you lost it. (I went back and read a few posts that I clearly missed somehow). I hope things turn up for you guys.

happylife, welcome to the thread. Sorry I missed your post the first time around. (I think I skipped a bunch.) I notice you are fasting; that is cool. I frequently notice that when I refrain from eating, my body gives me those detox symptoms which tells me that it is busy healing. I debate with myself if I should eat less or just flat out fast from time to time. I have years of bad eating that need to be fixed (not to mention weight that needs to be lost). Not eating is hard though. I think you are fasting for a week - congrats! more power to you!

Berry smoothie for breakfast, didnt taste too brilliant today, funny one day I can love it and other its just like medicine lol.

Lunch was coleslaw thing, made it for a friend for lunch she really liked it too (well she said she did, or shes just very polite, hee hee she wanted seconds so I guess its good and asked for the receipe)..

Later had some fruit and a little cooked, I seriously need to go shopping , running out of everything. I m looking forward to the new month and being stricter and loosing a few more pounds !...

Mystic, wow thats great news about the clothes and underwear ! I(not on the bank balance I guess) and great bargain with the shoes, I brought a beautiful pair of vegan pink sandals from beyond skin (hidiously expensive to buy vegan designer shoes!!) of ebay for hardly anything ! its good to get a bargain !..

Ohh thai coconuts, I must try and get some of those soon !

Absouloutly shattered so off to get an early night x

Rob...I made it about 22 hours from Fri - Sat. at 4:00. Started again Sat at 5:00 pm. I will do this one for the full 24 hrs. I'm not getting any bad reaction so that makes me happy.
I thought I would have 40 min's to go yet :). Must admit that I am watching the clock like a kid at Christmas time.
You could start out with a 12hr fast, that might be a good way to see how you feel.

For sure not fasting for a week, don't think that will ever happen.

Darn it. I just lost my post.

ReneeH, I was reading something geared for people that want to become certified. I think I was a little confused as to what the certification was for. I guess you teach people how to "cook" raw food? do you teach other teachers too?

happylife, I got pretty confused I guess. lol Maybe I will try a 12hr fast. I don't typically need to eat the first 8 hours that I am awake. Going another 4 hours probably wouldn't be too bad. Good luck with your fast.

Crystal2870, I made your asian slaw! It's awesome. The baby ate more than I did, I think. Everyone enjoyed it. It did not last long. lol I took a pic, I should have plated it and made it look pretty, in hind sight.

Lost 3 lbs this past week. I think because I had time off and was busy so not eating out of boredom. I eat a LOT of fruit at work and am starting to wonder if most of it is just boredom eating.

Got a very nice pair of shoes from the charity shop - new they would have been about £70.00 and they are in fab condition and only cost £10.00. I don't normally spend that much on shoes even new (!) but it was too good a deal to miss.

My favourite jeans are getting close to the point of needing a belt. I can actually slip them off without undoing the button or zip if I try! Going to need some new underwear too. It's flapping loose in a very unflattering way!

Alissa has a certification program where Teachers can instruct in the "art" of making raw and living food as well as encourage ones to teach LOLF classes also through her program and create a source if income for themselves and/or how eat begin eating raw themselves. Some go on to teach others, others just learn for the benefit of themselves and their families.

The classes that I teach covers everything from your basic raw food recipes in Alissa's book, to the more complicated recipes, to learning about the lifestyle (i.e. composting, fasting, detoxing, etc...). Each class is different. The classes are very motivating and TONS of fun for the student and teacher! I've been teaching these classes since 2010. My journey began right here with Alissa. I took her class in Boston and my raw business grew leaps and bounds after that.

Hope that helps! If you get a chance to take a class, it's totally worth it...especially if you take it from Alissa!!! I wouldn't trade that experience for all the coconuts in Hawaii!!!! :-)

Had a very healthy salad for lunch: pea sprout leaves, sorrel, azuki bean sprouts, black eyed bean sprouts, alfalfa sproouts and dressing.
Then took chlorella tablets with fresh juice.

Been busy busy with my new kitten, who's already a wee trouble maker but so so cute! Here's a photo of him.
My boyfriend's band have been recording their EP, too so I've been away at the recording studio for 10 hours at a time with them.
Because I'm so busy again I've kinda gone back to just eating raw when I can.

Pansy, congrats on the sprouting. Sounds really healthy.

ReneeH, yeah, I could probably benefit from one of those classes. Some of what you mentioned about the lifestyle (composting, for example) is new for me. I did see that someone in my area teaches Alissa's classes.

Divine Soul, I never seem to have a problem with nuts and I do eat a fair bit of them. Lethargy can be a detox symptom (not saying that's what it is, but FYI). Also, you are a runner right? I notice fruit likes to exercise. When I burn a lot of calories, there's nothing like filling my tummy with some yummy fruit (before or after). Maybe carbs vs nuts is really active vs inactive lifestyles? The topic of more fruit comes up on this forum a lot. Those 811ers and 30BaDers are always down on our nuts :)

    Day 5:
Ya I have no clue really what it was I feel fine today! I do about 1-2 hours of physical activity a day now but over the year I have been gone I got really out of shape and now I'm trying to get back into running and walking :)!

Everyone seems to be doing great so far! I'm personally going through fruit faster then I thought and its only day 5! I'm hoping I can what I have left to day 14! This afternoon I got on the scale and weighed in at 140lbs but I already had breakfast and some other food so I might be lighter then that! Hmmm maybe I can get down to 130lbs this month? Maybe not will see~

    Good luck guys!
