Default Help with starting a raw food diet and weight loss

Hi, Im posting here because Ive always wanted to start (and actually stick to!) a raw fruit diet, but I always end up failing due to problems like cravings, bloating, lack of knowledge, uncertainty, and lack of support.

I would really like to start living on a raw food diet and lose weight, but I need a lot of guidance and advice.

For starters, I am 19 years old and 5'9 and currenty weigh about 150lbs, with 10lbs of that being swelling and fluid retention from a surgery I recently underwent. I am normally very active and have a muscular build, but have trouble with 'stubborn' fat that I seem to be unable to lose no matter what. My lowest weight has been 135 and that was from loss of muscle, not fat.

I would like to know a good raw food diet to help me lose weight while recovering from my surgery. Previously I have always been discouraged when trying this because all of the raw fruit and veggies make me bloat up and feel bigger so I immediately go back to my old eating habits.

I want to know if it would be possible for me to lose weight eating raw by about July 23rd, as that is when Ill be taking a vacation to the beach and Id like to look as beach ready as possible. I am only afraid that, for some reason, a raw food diet may not give me the results I am trying to achieve and Ill end up sticking with my new eating habits, only to end up looking bloated and puffy in my swimsuit which I would absolutely hate!

I am very into health and fitness and my goal is to look and feel great while giving my body the very best.

If anyone has any weight loss tips, advice, or even just some support or encouragement, I would really appreciate it! I have tried this so many times just to get discouraged and fail, so this time Im reaching out for help.

First of all, welcome!!!! So nice to have you here!

If being healthy is what you are looking for, you've come to the right place for support! If you can, order Alissa's book! Trust me, it's JUST what you need! There are SOOOO many testamonials in there about ones who have lost weight with this way of life.

But, I do want to tell you that, to get the most out of it and really lose the weight that you want, you need to jump in and commit to it. This is not a weight loss quick scheme. It all depends on what you really, really want. If you stick to eating raw, you WILL totally lose the weight you want to lose and feel healthier than you've ever felt in your entire life. However, it is a lifestyle change.

Will you go back to eating cooked foods after July 23rd? Well, that's totally up to you. But, if you do, you will no doubt gain all of the weight back that you happen to lose up to then--if you stayed raw.

Please, don't get discouraged!!!!!! You CAN do it!!!! You CAN!!! ...IF you stick with it, be patient and KIND with yourself, and be determined to eat raw...cuz it's the best possible thing for your entire well-being.

I wish you such success in not only losing weight, but being happy with the way that you look and feel. Order Alissa's book Living on Live Food...You'll be so glad you did.....seriously! :

I absolutely intend to stick with this diet, its what I feel is healthiest for my body and as someone who feels they deserve the best, thats what I intend to do for myself!

The whole July 23rd thing is not that I want a quick weight loss fix and then to stop, its more that Im afraid that Ill have been eating raw for too little time for my body to have become accustomed to it and that I might end up having to go out in a bikini looking bloated and puffy - Id feel awful!

I fully intend to eat raw for LIFE, Im just wondering if you CAN lose weight quickly eating this way, as that would definitely be an added benefit! Id like to look as beach ready as possible, but if its not possible to lose the weight I want by the time I leave for vacation, I at least dont want to look any WORSE than I do now.

Ive just always been afraid that the high sugar content from raw eating may cause my body to store fat, or that Ill have problems with bloating and water retention. I dont know if I will, but you can never be too safe, so Im asking for advice now! :)

I think anything's possible. :). If you fasted you would probably lose more quickly...

I've never experienced a problem with natural sugar, but everyone's body is different. Why not try it for a week, record your body's reactions and see what you find.

I wish you success and hope that you reach your goal! :)

Im hesitant to try fasting because I have a lot of muscle tone that Ive worked hard to build and maintain, and I feel like I might lose a lot of that during a fast.

I think trying it for a week and recording the results would probably be the safest option. Thankyou! Ill jump right in and document my progress closely and report back with the results. :)

This 30-day plan is so tempting! I hope I can then be able to try this out. I wish to do this as soon as possible but my busy schedule keeps me from doing it. I eat a lot because I do a lot of things.

    Hey Karem!

Why not take it in one week intervals!!! Alissa tells you what to eat each week! She even gives you the grocery list for each week!!! Just pick a week and DO it!!! You gotta eat anyway, right! You may as well eat raw! :-)
