    Default Sushi

Thought I'd share my lunch with everyone.

Instead of sticky rice, I used hummus to hold it together. A little salty. If anyone has any other ideas of something to replace the rice, i would appreciate it.

Also used imitation crab (which I realize is not RAW), so if anyone has an alternative, I'd appreciate that as well.

All in all, it turned out great.

for the rice you can use finely chopped cauliflower.
For the crab, use a sunflower seed paste with lemon
Raw hemp seed can be used instead of sesame.

But how do you make the cauliflower sticky?

Could a little ground flax and water make it sticky?

I heard someone say it is not legal to sprout hemp seed. It's not legal to sprout but legal to cook with is that correct?

I read that on the sproutpeoples website. It is not legal to sprout. Commercially sold hemp seeds is not (sproutable). Or so they say. When it sprouts it produces the THC that why you are not allowed to sprout it.

I'm not talking about sprouting it just eating it!

I use shelled hemp which wouldn't sprout anyway.

    3 c chopped jicama
    1/4 c pine nuts
    1 T sea salt
2 T rice wine vinegar or ACV
    1 1/2 T agave nectar
Cut jicama in cubes and process the jicama and pinenuts in a food processor until the size of rice. Put into a nut milk bag or cheese cloth and squeeze until sort of dry. Add the remaining ingredients, fluff it up and there you have sushi rice.

I love avacados, marinated mushrooms, cucumber, carrots and bean sprouts in sushi rolls. The other nights I used sea kelp and cabbage in some with a ginger dressing to dip in.
    The possibilities are endless. Enjoy!

I understood that, but it raised a question in my mind.

    I use carrots!

I grind them up in the food processor until they are rice size. Then I add organic rice vinegar and agave, mix it up and put it in the dehydrator to absorb the liquid and soften the "rice"!

I expect that would work too. I've never tried it coz it's not available as far as I know.

a large "wedge" shaped one does the trick. Use the full length of the knife to cut through going forwards with the knife.
