May Movement Thread
Whether you are 100% raw, vegan, or just starting out, being active will further improve your overall well being.
The intent of this thread is get more people moving, it doesn't matter if you walk a 1/4 mile or run 10 miles; it's about getting out and making a difference in your life. By making the difference in your life you then will have a positive effect on those around you. If you are sitting in the sidelines, get on board No one will judge you, just get involved! Set the example, Enjoy the journey! GET SOME!

I am in for May Movement. I am challenging myself to move daily in May, cardio, weight strenghening and/or yoga. Thanks for the thread.

Ran 2.5 mi at lunch.
Afternoon:
Military press 5,5,5,5,5 (55, 65, 75, 85, 85)

Our family started doing Krav Maga a few weeks ago. We signed up for the long hall. We go 3-4 times a week and 2 of the work outs last for 1 1/2 -2 hours. Its amazing and we are loving it!!
I want to start doing the P90X stretch video on the off days. My body is really sore and having to adjust, but I know it will get there sooner than later :)

Krav Maga, will keep you moving and sweating; P90X stretch is excellent for the days which you aren't taking the Krav Maga lessons.
My movement for today
AM: 3.5 mi run before work
Afternoon: Cross fit WOD "The Chief" which is dedicated to the Navy Chiefs.
Warmup and stretching, 5x5 knees to elbows
Complete As Many Rounds As Possible in 3 minutes of: (Rest 1 minute. Repeat for a total of 5 cycles)
75 pound Power cleans, 3 reps
6 Push-ups
9 Squats
Completed
1: 4
2: 4
3: 4
4: 4
5: 4 +3 power cleans+6 pushups
I hydrated and rested for 30 min, then cut the lawn (25 min). Get some!

We did Krav Maga tonight. My little girls did the kids class and then my older 3 and I did the adult class. It was very good. My body is not 20 any more and I have lots of pains, but I'm pushing through it (not in a bad way). I can't wait for my body to respond the way my mind is :) In my mind I can do anything ..lol..

PM workout: Light stretching, warmup, 3x20 lunges, 3x5 knees to elbow
Deadlifts 5 5 5 5 5 (135, 155, 195, 215, 215)
3x7 pull ups, 3x5 Kettlebell press (25#)

Folks in their 50's are supposed to be pumped full of meds, eating junk food and feeling like crap. NOT! Eventually I will do a HSPU, GET SOME!

We did Krav Maga on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday nights.. It was amazing, but my body was crying for a break. So instead of doing Krav today, we tilled our garden and added another 144 sq.feet to it. I was outside for half the day shoveling horse stuff and raking the tilled garden. It looks great and now I'm ready for a nice bath and a good nights sleep.
We'll do Krav again on Monday!!

Today's Workout was a tough one, I was feeling tired and was sucking wind throughout, but I pushed through and finished and felt better at the end.
For time:
95 pound Back squat, 25 reps
15 Pull-ups
45 pound Shoulder-to-overhead, 20 reps
95 pound Front squat, 20 reps
15 Pull-ups
45 pound Shoulder-to-overhead, 20 reps
Air squats 20 reps
15 Pull-ups
45 pound Shoulder-to-overhead, 20 reps
Time: 20:14 Get some!

Rest day today, walked about 2.5 mi. Did some Kettlebell holds for 60 sec in the rack position, good burn. Get some!
