Default Juicing vs. Eating vs. Pressing

    Hello!

Ironically it was a juicer that made me want to go raw. I was using a cheap one and much to my horror I noticed plastic had been shredding, and I had already been using the juicer for about a month. The plunger and part of the top part was ground down!!

I realized I must have consumed a lot of plastic and bpa and decided to do things differently.

I have been mostly eating my veggies, and lots of them. Radishes are a huge hit for me for some reason!

Anyway, I am thinking of getting a real juicer and have looked at the juicer thread and have done a lot of research.

I am wary of plastic now, but the one without plastic is about $2000!!

So I am thinking og going with the wheat grass press which can do other leafy greens. But then I could not do beets which I need because of the gallbladder issues.

Soooooo---in short, if I just keep eating the beets raw and carrots etc., is there really any benefit to juicing?

I am new to this and rather scared, so any advice would be great!!

    OK

yes there is benefits to juicing and just because you had a negative experience with one juicer doesn't mean you'll have it with another.

my champion and greenstar have never shredded plastic into my juices.

Twin gear greenstar is the best juicer for wheat grass in my humble opinion. I have many type. The downside with this juicer, it is big and heavy and it doesn't work great with soft fruits. Firm apples are fine with this juicer but not the soft one.

It works great with leafy greens and any hard vegetable. The good side of this juice, is that the pulp are dry and you got far more juice then a regular juice.

I have a few good juicer and none of them shredded plastic either. You must have a very bad one, i am so sorry that you have been drinking that plastic.

I have the green star as well but if beets are the only reason to get it you could blend your beets and use a sprouting bag to strain it.
