If you are starting on the raw food journey, smoothie has the fiber to cleanse your guts and you will detox gently. With juicing, it is absorb directly and you detox faster. You may want to watch out for gallbladder stone when you detox quickly. I waited a long time before juicing, i love juice. For fruits, i prefer eating them whole, i feel i need their fiber.
It is a personal choice and what is good for you. Juicing helps to give a brake to your digestive system, so it could be something that you need to do to restore balance. Do what feels right to you and research again.
