Default your fav savory smoothies/blended soups?

    Hi all -

Still struggling with my tooth issue. I was eating for a few days, but now the temp filling/crown is messed up and I'm back to a liquid diet till I see the dentist.....

What thick rich satisfying smoothies/soups can you recommend?

I'm enjoying a quaco-smoothie now, but any others that are super filling?

    thanks!

Mix sprouted sesame seeds with sprouted buckwheat or amaranth and throw in as many greens as you can tolerate - that'll fill ya right up. Yeah it might be bad food combining, but I've never had any problem with it.

Hi T-Bird ~ Sorry to hear about your tooth :/

I hope you enjoy this "blended salad" (really - savory smoothie) as much as I do:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5oaJS_Ac-Ko

Here are the ingredients I use:

    Paul's Blended Salad

    1T lemon juice
    5-6 Campari tomatoes
    1 regular sized cucumber
    3 stalks celery
    Big handful spinach
(If I'm growing sunflower greens, I'll add some too)
    salt
    cumin
    cilantro

1 sweet pepper (I add 1/2 to the blender and 1/2 diced in my bowl for crunch)

thanks deb - that sounds yummy!

I don't have all the ingredients, but the thought of cumin is now driving me crazy - I'll get as close as I can to it - I have beet greens and some fresh chard in the garden that could withstand a picking! and I could sub a lime for the lemon - got the cilantro.....

    Living food -
great idea about sprouted grains! I'll put some on to soak, drain before bed, and they should be kind of sprouty by dinner tomorrow!

It's generally better to sprout for longer then that, although if you have quinoa on hand you can get away with just sprouting it for a day.

Hi T-Bird ~ Just a little side note. I use spinach for the greens as I've tried it with others and for me, I much prefer the mild taste of the spinach. So, please - if you find the greens too pungent? Do try it again with spinach. This is a staple recipe for me, so good! I hope your tooth calms down and gets feeling better soon!

deb - i used the lime juice, and chard as subs, also did soy sauce instead of salt.....

I made up some cashew puree to make sour creme to help with the antibiotic recovery.....so I just did it in the blender with the cashew residue to give it a currish type nuance.....really good!

    Going to add more cumin!

I made something that I called, "amazing coconut curry special", and I typically pour the sauce/soup over mixed veggies. But I also think the sauce itself makes a wonderful soup. I'll get ya the link so you don't have to search for it.

Can you all imagine the abundant world we would live in if we all planted the seeds of every plant we ate. You wouldn't be able to throw a stone without hitting a fruit tree or berry bush or some fruit/vegetable bearing plant. Imagine the bees that would thrive in such an environment. I see a world.....................
