Default Too much fruit? fructose/weight gain

    hey, all.

i did raw a loooooong time ago, moved around, lost track of things and had difficulty sticking to raw in the winter and trying to decide whether raw or paleo (i don't naturally like the meat, i should add) was best for me.

one of the concerns that i've had with raw is the amount of the fructose people consume via fruit. sure, fruit it better than so many other options, but Tracey left a message in the Before&After section about gaining 12 pounds from doing 80/10/10.

i've gained weight recently and am hoping to drop 20 pounds, but am worried about feeling like i'm addicted to sugar, which happened when i tried going raw this past january.

with weight loss AND health in mind, what would you recommend as far as consuming fruit goes?

has anyone had problems gaining weight from fresh fruit? or is this a non-issue?

    thanks!

One of the best sugar you can take is from a whole fruit.

It is a simple sugar and easy to digest. The liver convert it into a glucose and it is use to fuel every single cell of your body. Eat your fruits. You cannot gain weight from eating a whole fruit, not for me anyway. Complex sugars, are the one to be very careful with.

If you isolate the fructose from the food, then i agree, it is very harmful to you but not when it is in balance. Meaning, eating the whole raw fruits.

Sometime, when our adrenal aren't working great, you will have tendency to gain weight. It isn't only the thyroid.

Fruits rejuvenate and healing your entire nerve system, don't be afraid of them and eat them.

I like them best in the morning

P.S Always best to choose a fresh ripe fruit.

Yes its coming off now. I added greens into my diet and cut back on the bananas and dates. I now eat water fruits like watermelon, oranges, and mangos. 811 I was eating 10 bananas a day plus Oranges plus dates. It was too much heavy fruits. Now I balanced it out. I have about 1 lb of greens a day. Seed milk and crackers. I feel great.
