    Default Hello from Northern Indiana

Hi my name is Delmar. I first got interested in sprouting a little over a year ago to provide inexpensive live food for my chickens in the winter. I have mostly sprouted best wheat and corn for my birds and have had the best success with corn.
In June of 2011 I was diagnosed with renal cell carcinoma and my left kidney was removed in August. RCC is highly resistant to chemotherapy and radiation so the strategy is to remove the tumor and do no other treatment unless the cancer returns.
While I was staying in Indianapolis my wife and I were staying with a friend of a friend, who happens to own a health food store. That guy started talking to me about alternative treatments such as apple seeds, and hose dose vitamin c. I figured "hey if the doctors are not going to give me any options except wait for it to maybe return, I'm all ears"!
It has been 6 months since my surgery. I had a CT scan in January and I'm doing good so far, but it is time to really get down to business. For the last month I have been juicing every day. I'm juicing pretty much every kind of veggie I can get my hands on that doesn't break the bank. Also I have been foraging around my property for stuff I can juice for free. To my surprise I was able to find patches of new green grass, in Northern Indiana, In the middle of February. I have also experimented a bit, with juicing pine needles.

Also I have expanded my sprouting to include red clover and alfalfa.

that's my story so far. I'm looking forward to any hints you have for me.

    Thanks, I'll check that out.

I am going to plant a variety of things outside, but I am mostly interested in the perennial plants, that don't have to be started every year. I am definatly going to start a patch of Red Clover and a big Dandelion patch!

I am not a vegan and I wanted to start a thread on a particular topic that I couldn't find a place for. So I read the rules and discovered that I was going to ask a question that is not appropriate for this forum.
Still I am very much interested in topics related to healthier eating, juicing sprouting and working toward a higher % of raw foods in my diet. If anyone here knows of a forum that focuses on these topics but allows discussions that are non vegan, perhaps you could private message me with a link to it. I hope this request is not stepping on anyone's toes.

once i went vegan 18 years ago i quit reading anything that wasnt from vegan point of veiw so ive no idea on an omnivore type forum . but one thing i can say is if never heard of book CHINA STUDY its raved about by alot of people and it concerns meat eating / veganism / cancer , so ide figure the guy who wrote it cambell would have opinions on healthiest forms of animal products / avoiding - healing cancer on an omni diet . ide search the china study at places like youtube and facebook to find large groups commenting on topic
