I am on day 3 of a juice fast. May break it tomorrow with something gentle in the evening because a family friend is taking my family and I out for tradition. Then I will pick it back up again on Easter. So far, feeling good. I have mixed energy levels but the highs are worth the effort.

    Finishing up day 1 here....

I started making a large amount of juice all at once this time (no clue why I hadn't done this before, I got the idea from my friend) and it's so much easier. I was making 1-2 cups at a time and washing my juicer a million times a day before, lol. Now I just keep my juice in a big pitcher in the fridge and keep sipping from it all day.

I'm having a little detox and am pretty tired but happy to be fasting. It might just be a short one this time because I have a lot going on and am starting a new job in a week or so. But we'll see. Maybe I will get some energy out of nowhere and decide to keep going.

Am I the only one fasting right now? Usually this place is far more active.

Day 2... I am thinking about breaking the fast though. I am really confused. For some reason my heart just isn't in it this time. Will fasting only a couple days at a time still give benefits? I'm thinking that might be more practical for me in the future. Sometimes such a long time goes by between periods where I am able to devote weeks to fasting.

Morning All: Easter morning and it is pretty chilly outside with possible snow on the way, hate to hear that because we have had a great spring so far, unusually warm for central Canada. Day 5 today of a juice fast for me and doing a bit better this morning. I think my body was having a difficult time adjusting to the lack of carbs and I have been really crabby so I am guessing my blood sugar and blood pressure have been all over the map these past few days. I fasted 22 days in January in a row, a mixture of water and juice and then a few days one or two at a time since then but now I hope to do a good long one, we'll see what the body can handle. I wanted to do a 40 day fast the last long stretch but my miserable body symptoms got in the way and I finally had to throw in the towel so I am hoping this time for a better outcome. The positive in all of this is that detox was easier this time so physical symptoms were less but my emotions have been all over the map, much worse than last time.

I am hoping that there will be at least a few of us on this journey this month as it really helps to have support in this journey and a place to come and just swap experiences and know that you are on a journey with others around. Climbing I hope you are still around today.

Have a good day everyone and remember to enjoy the sunshine in your life, and Happy Easter to all.

I'm still here! I almost broke my fast last night but I figured what the heck, I'm going to sleep for 8 hours, might as well keep going another night, so I did. And I'm glad I did because I had really crazy "fasting dreams" all night long and it was fun. :) Water fasting this morning, easing into juice later.

Yay!! Glad to hear you didn't break your fast!

I'm on day 6 now! Not really having any detox symptoms per-se lately, just craving food bad! Of course the family keeps making food that I use to love (poutine, chicken fingers.. spaghetti.. ahhhh!!) I can smell it.

Glad to have some company this Easter day. I am sipping on some green juice right now and tried it with a lemon as well as ginger, I like the ginger but do not like the lemon in the green so that will be the last time I do that, now I have to choke it back because do not want to waste all the wonderful veggies that went into it.

Good for you climbing for hanging in there with your fast, it is more difficult I find when you are hanging around family that are eating especially if they are not eating raw because the smells are whiffing through the house. My hubby is not raw totally and so I continue to cook for him although he does it a lot himself but still like I mentioned I have a highly defined sense of smell and it does make it more difficult especially in the early days of fasting, later on it does not bother me so much.

Great to hear you're on day 6! Do you ever get to the point where smells no longer tempt you but it's almost like you can savor them. Usually around day six I start to have moments like that! Hope it happens to you. Then I like to cook or sometimes I'll even bake?! I almost don't wnt to say it, but I'm starting a fast "tomorrow." Or, really now I suppose I could say! Cheers everyone!

Hey everyone, good job on your fasting. I'm still at it. :) This morning I felt great, however tonight I was very irritable and feeling a bit nauseated, I definitely was detoxing something.

I'll be joining in tomorrow! I have some apples, oranges, kale, and romaine I need to use up. I'm not sure how long this will be, so I'll take each day as it comes.

Joining you all for a couple days though no telling how good I'll be at posting! Things in life are outta control and very stressful right now and I find at these times when I would have reached for a cigarette I now deal with with stress with eating horribly. Don't quite know why I feel the need to abuse my body in stressful situations....I'll have to work on that!

Anyway - fasting keeps me in line and has prevented the binge eating of crap before so I am turning to it again :) Sipping on apple/celery/ginger now. Have a mixed berry and lettuce for later today and a bunch of kale and pears for this evening. Hope a couple days will get me on track!

shine... I feel you. I tend to turn toward "cooked" foods when I'm stressed. I'm trying to break that pattern as well.

Today is day 1 for me. I'm making some honey/lemon water right now and then we'll see how the day goes. I do have some oranges and apples too..

Good Morning Fellow Fasters: I had a rough night last night, not much sleep, shivery cold, (I found that I was like that on my last long fast) and body aches all over the place. This morning I just can not get my head around drinking juice at all even fruit so I am taking a page from M.R.s book and sipping on warm lemon water with a teaspoon of honey. Hope I feel better soon, I am already wavering on my decision to do a long fast. If I can hang on until day 10 or so I know I will turn the corner for a while at least. Oh yes forgot to mention day 6 today.

Have a good fasting day everyone and remember to enjoy the sunshine in your life. We got a bit of snow here last night and it is windy and cold outside, so working on income tax is my agenda for the day bundled up and with wool socks and slippers on my feet.
