    Default washing veggies?

    Hello All-

New here to the board, but have been juicing (green stuff mostly) for the last year or so.

I buy all organic produce but have always wondered about washing them. I rinse each piece under cold water and have always wondered if that is sufficient?

Just curious what others do in their juicing regiment.

    thanks!

    Jason

I use Biokleen Produce Wash from Health Food Store. I put some in a bowl of water, mix it in and put veggies in it, then rub them a little and rinse. Same with greens, only without rubbing part. This process gives me peace of mind.

Some doctor also told me that if I do not want to spend money on this liquid I can make a mixture of grapefruit extract, baking soda and vinegar and it will do the same.

I also love Bio-Kleen! I order mine through Azure Standard.

But honestly? For organic produce - I usually use plain water and call it good. I use the BK on non-organics.

I don't wash anything organic or not. I'll take the pesticides with the dirt and take my chances.

I'm pretty germaphobic I think - I rinse organic produce because of everyone that's handled it moreso than the dirt... But from our own garden - I just rinse it to get the dirt off of it because we live in the desert and wow stuff gets dirty and dusty here.
