Default How Much Water Should You Drink a Day?

How much water do you guys drink a day? Should you drink a lot of water if, you're also making green smoothie with water too? Drinking 88 ounce of water and putting water in green smoothie seems to be too much?

Well, I don't think what I am about to say is thought to be true my most people, but my doctor said you should drink like this....

if you weigh 100 pounds.... drink 75 ounces of water a day

if you weigh 200 pounds, drink 150 ounces a day..... and that is the most anybody should drink, she said

I drink about 75 ounces a day... and I weigh about 270 pounds, but I also have 20 - 30 ounces in my smoothies. "Some" days I actually do drink 150 ounces of water.

I've heard you should drink half your body weight in oz each day.

so if you weigh 100 lbs you dring 50 oz water

120 lbs of 60 oz of water and so on.

I'll go against the tide here. I stopped going out of my way to drink water. I used to do the whole, 1/2 your body weight in water, etc. Now I don't drink extra water at all. I stay very well hydrated as I eat & drink fruit and fruit juice only during the day and have a raw veggie meal for supper. I also try to get in a green juice.

I am not really sure.. but I have always been a big water drinker.. I am 108 lbs and drink atleast 65 oz or more of water a day! .. I wake up each morning and until lunch time I will consume 50 oz of water before I eat anything.. (this is over a few hours) ... it makes me feel great, flushes out the system and I actually have a tonne of energy.. the rest of the day I will eat salads etc and then after a few hours of not eating anything I will drink a few more glasses... this seems to have made such a different with flushing matter out of my body since going raw... :)

I remember reading somewhere that you need 30 mls of water per kilogram of body weight. It added to roughly 1 and a half liters for me, which is about 50 oz. I'm not entirely sure how accurate this is, considering that your water requirements will vary depending on what kind of climate you live in and how much physical exercise you're getting. Of course, if you sweat more, you are going to need more water.

There are no fixed rules really. It all depends on what you eat. If you eat lots of fresh high water content food then you'll need less water. If you're eating lots of those raw gourmets with lots of seeds and dehydrated fruits and veggies or lots of nuts you'll need a lot more water. If you're drinking caffeinated teas like green tea or teas that are natural diuretics like dandelion, buchu etc, you'll need more. Likewise if you're eating lots of foods that are diuretics and salty foods you'll need more. So forget those rules and listen or pay attention to your body. If you're thirsty drink more. If your pee is yellow, drink LOTS more. If you're constipated, drink drink and drink. If you're drinking lots of water and having a sluggish digestive system, you'll need to focus more on what you're eating and add more high water content food. You shouldn't over tax your system.

I judge my water intake by the colour of my urine. If colourless then I'm drinking enough. If not colourless then I drink more. I feel quite lucky in so far as I actually like water. So many people I know say they don't like the taste of even the nicest water!

i don't believe there is a number for water as almost everything you eat has water. Drink when your body tells you. Everyday i drink 50oz and that don't count anything else i get water from. There are days where i go and drink more and others less. Just do what your body says and you will be fine. I weight 165 lbs.

Even though I should, I don't pay attention to the amount of water I drink, as far as ounces.

I have a 64 ounce Hydro Flask insulated bottle that I fill with cold water and drink throughout my 8 hours of work. Then at home I have at least another couple of glasses, sometimes I'll have a glass of sweet tea. I'm male, 6'1" and 165 lbs.

Product plug: If you've never heard of Hydro Flask, you should check them out. I absolutely love their insulated bottles. My water stays ice cold all day, even without ice cubes (when putting in refrigerated water). With ice, it stays cold with remanence of cubes for a couple of days. I have a 21 ounce and a 64 ounce. Way better than Klean Kanteens, in my opinion.

Thanks for pointing out the Hydro Flask. I may have to get one some day soon. :)

As for water, I drink too much. As a heart failure patient I'm only supposed to drink 2 liters of fluid a day. I almost always go over, sometimes close to twice as much as I should.
