Default RAW Zucchini Pasta with Marinara Sauce

Hi, I'm new here and about one month in on being completely raw.

I made a RAW Zucchini Pasta with Marinara Sauce this weekend. It was AWESOME ! I just ordered a spiral slicer online and will be making much more of this recipe in the future. All of my friends at work liked it also !

    Zucchini Pasta with Marinara Sauce
    -------------------------------------------
    1 Red pepper
    3 tomatoes
    1 clove garlic
    1/2 cup sun dried tomatoes
    1/2 cup olive oil
    1 tsp basil
    1 tsp oregeno
    1 tsp salt

    I followed this recipe

That's the recipe I use too. I usually skip the olive oil though, or just put in a dash. I love it!! You'll have fun with your spiral slicer!

Yayyy -- enjoy your spiralizer! I honestly use mine all the time and absolutely adore it -- zucchini noodles are one of my favorite go-to quickie meals, YUM.

I also love them with cheezy cashew sauce, which takes just seconds to whir up in the blender. And sometimes just with a bit of olive oil, sundried tomatoes, parsley and black pepper..... SO GOOD.

Another great way to have veggie noodles is in miso soup.... so cozy and warming this time of year!

Thanks for the comments ! I made it again today and only used 2 tsp olive oil to cut down on the amount of fat and it was just as good. I may try it without the oil next time. Can you give me some more ideas on what to use the spiral slicer for ? I was thinking about cucumber ? and making a cute salad with it..

thanks for posting that alternative for the pasta. I used to like the marinara, now I just don't, but like the zucchini pasta.

I can hardly wait to get a spiralizer! I really hope I like zucchini noodles because I love pasta. I was thinking about getting the Benriner one from Amazon. I know it's a bit more expensive but it sounds like it's a little better made and it would last longer.

Sunshine, the QVC website has the exact same model for just $27 -- shipping included!! That's where I got mine, per suggestion by DebB! (Thanks again, Deb!)

@JuicingJuli.... You're welcome! I'm sure I read all those suggestions from other people here on the site, hahahahaa! I love this place.

Yes - sadly QVC stopped carrying the lower priced spiral slicer (Booooo!) It was a great price, the cheapest I'd found online. Good to know that they've got the "World Cuisine" brand there qwerty. We can always hope it's a TSV in the future...

My absolute favorite noodles to spiralize are cucumber noodles! Toss them with raw, organic black sesame seeds and an Asian sauce and you've got a great dinner!

Plus, they're so fun to eat with chop sticks!!!

Anyone try running some Zucchini through an Omega juicer? They have the pasta attachment, wonder if it would make noodles for me if I run a Zucchini through it.

That would be interesting to see PR. The really long noodles are from the spiral slicer, which is its own little entity. It's not like a shredding blade... But maybe we don't need 8' long noodles?? ;) My friend once asked, "Sheesh - just how BIG was that zucchini Deb??"
