coffee enemas question....please help
I was wondering if any of you do coffee enemas. My husband is doing the Gerson Therapy at home and is starting to do coffee enemas. He brought one of those enemas with the red bottle, but the Gerson Therapy says to go inside about 8 inches. Ok, so here is my question. So, where can we get an "official" coffee enema? Also, have you put it inside that far? We were worried that it might damage or hurt something. Any other experiences/advice would be helpful.

You only want to insert the enema tip only a couple inches. Inserting the tip 8 inches is way too far. It only needs to be inserted enough that the coffee will flow into the rectum.
What do you mean by official coffee enema? Are you asking if there is a professional person you can go to that will administer the coffee enema? If that is what you are asking then I don't know of anywhere you can do that.
Do you have the gerson book? It has details in it about the coffee enema. If you don't then I can share with you the basic idea of it.

Can you all imagine the abundant world we would live in if we all planted the seeds of every plant we ate. You wouldn't be able to throw a stone without hitting a fruit tree or berry bush or some fruit/vegetable bearing plant. Imagine the bees that would thrive in such an environment. I see a world.....................

I really think following a raw food diet obviates the need for enemas. It is not natural to stick stuff in that end and I am unconvinced that it actually benefits except psychologically perhaps.

With utter and complete respect to you MysticTree. I totally disagree.
Dr. Fred Bisci has lots of detail and over 40 years of experience with this area.

My husband has cancer and we have the Gerson book, we just started the juicing and organic live food diet, etc. The Gerson book says 8 to 10 inches. It is suppose to detox the liver by opening up the bile ducts. Will this still happen if it is only inserted the usual 3 inches. Oh, what I meant when I said "official coffee enema" was I wasn't sure if there were regular enemas (that only go up 3 inches) and coffee enemas (that can go further). The one that we have has a stick, then it will not allow to go past that point. Gosh, we don't want to damage anything. Maybe the 3 inches will be just as effective.
Fastfreedom, do you know about the Gerson diet?

I've studied the Gerson Therapy a little bit. But I honestly can't figure out why they say to insert the tube 8 inches. I had to go look at my book and sure enough they say to insert it 8-10 inches. Maybe I need to study it a bit more to see if there's a purpose for inserting it that far.
But my understanding and experience with coffee enemas is to only allow the coffee to stay in the rectum where the hemorrhoidal vein is. The hemorrhoidal vein connects directly to the liver from the rectum which basically causes it to detox itself and also cause the gallbladder to squeeze itself clean. And that can be accomplished by simply laying on the right side while administering the enema with a regular tip. And I've only ever used a regular enema tip and the coffee enema's are always effective.

This sounds positively dangerous. Certainly if not done under the supervision of someone who has been trained to insert something this far.

This does sound dangerous! I would strongly suggest that you seek medical advice before doing this. I also happen to agree that enemas are completely unnecessary, especially if living a very healthful life and keeping the body fed with good nutritious foods. I would be very hesitant to try this if I were you.

I've inserted mine at least 6 inches w/out damage. People (men and women) have sex using way more than that. Stop the fear folk. If you've not done it, then stop scaring people with your own fears.
I read a book loooong ago about a woman who had inoperable cancer throughout her whole system. She was basically told to go home and die. She began a juice regimen and with the help of her husband, did numerous enemas daily and lived. I've since tried to find the book to no avail.
-
And just because you have done it (or read a book about someone who has) doesn't mean that it's safe for just anyone to do... especially if they seem unsure about doing it in the first place. I assume they're asking because they want input from all sides. If not, and they're just looking for people to tell them to go ahead and do something that some of us feel could be unsafe if done incorrectly, then pardon me, I'll happily step out of this post.

I don't necessarily agree with doing enemas either, however, there are safer ways to deliver the fluid deeper into the colon. There are colon tubes available online. I've never seen these offered anywhere locally (not that I've really looked) and I don't have any experience with them. I'm sure some places that sell them would be able to answer questions if you emailed them.
The second link even has a powdered organic coffee enema mix you can use as well.

Coffee enemas have been known to:
-damage tissues with the insertion device
-burn you if the coffee is not at a cool enough temperature: "You may think that you will be able to know if the hot liquids are inserted. But, the fact is that as the tube is inserted about three fourth inch of the rectum where nerve endings are very less you will not be able to feel the sense until great deal of damage is done to the tissues."
-make you addicted to coffee if you do it regularly
-cause electrolyte imbalances
-potential bacterial infection if you reuse the equipment and do not properly sterilize it
-dehydration if you do the enema often
-cause heart palpitations
-cause adverse reactions if you are sensitive to caffeine
-any insecticides contained in the coffee can cause issues
So, I think those potential risks are enough to warrant extreme caution when performing something like this. The last thing I would want to see is someone get hurt because they eagerly followed advice found on a forum. Even if you've done it yourself a thousand times with no ill effects, it's only fair to let the original poster get feedback from all. :-/

My guesstimation as to why it's recommended to insert the tube that far in the gerson protocol is because it is not mentioned to do a cleansing enema first, and they use up to 5 coffee enemas a day. So obviously there's going to be matter in the rectum, and my guess is that inserting a tube that far would be to help the person retain the coffee for at least 15 minutes.
But that's all just a guess. I suppose I could try it and come to my own conclusion through experience. DUH.
Revvell - The story you are speaking about sounds vaguely familiar.
Coffee enemas work, plain and simple. Do some research and then actually experience it before passing judgement. Not that I can really say much though because I was spreading fear about how far to insert an enema tip, then revell brought up a good point, and when I thought logically I was like, "DUH".

I totally agree. But I'm going to take the advice of a professional that's administered coffee enemas to thousands of patients and successfully healed those patients over the advice of anyone that's unwilling to even consider doing an enema. Not to target anyone specifically. And sticking something in the bum is a bit of a taboo subject that is based in fear, yet I can only say that if it works, then it works, and we need to be willing to accept that. I didn't accept it at first. But I can't argue with success, so I opened my mind.
