Hello everyone,

I'm a newbie to the board...a newbie to raw...and so excited about it.

I had 110 pounds to lose to get to my ultimate goal weight (or what I think will be my healthy goal weight...). I went raw January 4, 2012 (cold turkey) and am down 9.4 pounds my first week. I was living a fairly clean eating life (with the occassional not-so-clean-treat) but I just kept feeling like I wasn't eating "quite right". Does that make any sense?

I have been reading a lot..researching a lot...planning a lot...and just decided when I woke up that morning to say 'screw it - I'm going raw'. I have a commonlaw spouse and together we have 6 children...none of them are going raw with me, but I fully expect that they will get the benefits of extra veggies/fruit throughout the day and I HOPE that my kids will end up following my example and gravitate towards a more raw lifestyle.

I'm going to slowly introduce the concept to them (none of my family knows I've gone raw..they just think I've gone veggie-nuts lol).

Anyway - I thought I'd start this thread as a way of introduction and to invite others who have 100+ lbs to lose (or not!!) to join in and hopefully support one another. I'll be checking in here fairly close to a daily basis to keep myself accountable, find support and maybe even be able to lend support to others.

Right now, I'm mostly living off of Green Smoothies right now - tonnes of leafy greens, a piece of fruit (apple usually) and water to liquify. I'll nosh on veggie sticks, fruit and a small amount of nuts/seeds throughout the day when I feel hungry.

Anyway, thanks for reading - hope to be able to interact with some of you during this journey into rawdom :)
