Samhain...cleansing
I have decided that the timing is perfect for me to start my raw journey anew. Samhain is but a few days away and I want to start the new year with a pure diet as a foundation for other improvements I intend to make. I also plan to fast the day before, of, and after the full moon. That way I can't put it off a few days and manipulate myself out of it. I think it will aid in meditation at that time too. Any one doing anything similar or have any suggestions?

Merry meet Amberly,
I and Dragggon celebrate Samhain and have a very special ritual planned.
We have a huge bonfire, and release all of our challenges from the past year and bless the new year with air, fire, water, earth, blood, tears and the goddess and god come together in their sacred union, to part and to re-awaken all that there is.
I and Dragggon, act as the God and Goddess.(he is the High Priest, and I am a High Priestess of our coven).
However, we do not fast, we feast. (sounds close, but way different)
We use the Samhain celebration to totally appreciate all that has gone before, ancestors, and challenges, happiness, joys, and to bring in the new year with praise, wishes, blessings, and family (born into, and extended).
Although I am sure your celebration will be beautiful also.
We also celebrate most of the 3 days prior and 3 days past the actual date of Samhain, as a total of 7 days of celebrations.
It actually is a massive amount of work, but so fun and pleasurable.
We are starting this Thursday (althought that is a day early, but that's okay)
We go from one member's home to another, each night at a different place, or sometimes two, and we do a huge celebration, feast, gift presents, have ritual, enjoy each other's company etc.
My love and I are not polygamous, although some members are, and this is a perfect time to truly send out the love we have for each other, in what ever form we choose.
There is always lots of hugging, dancing, kissing, smiling, eating, etc.
Not all coven members are raw either, or even vegetarian, so there are many types and kinds of food available, I just bring in lots of raw fruits and veggies. Everyone brings something, and we all just basically have a week long party, from one house to the next. Sometimes people sleep over, or we crash at their place, some people stay a night or 5, it's all up to the individual, but it's like one big happy family/commune. LOL
It is our favorite time of year.
