    Default lunch ideas for school

    Hello everyone!
I want to start my kids on a raw diet. They're about 60% raw right now, and I want to increase it.
What do you give your kids to take to school with them?

Today I made an avocado soup for lunch, but I worry it may go bad if I make it the night before for her...

Can you give me some ideas? :)

Alissa book has some great recipes if you have a deyhdrator. "Pop tarts" Cookies. Breads
Nori rolls would be good. Get creative. Make a dip of almond butter/honey cut up veggies. Salads, fruits. Kale chips.
Im not sure how old are your kids that might make a difference in what they would like.
My kids and I do a taste testing before I ever put it in there lunches. I make 2-4 of different things they get a taste and decide what they would eat in there lunch box.

Unfortunately I don't have a dehydrator yet. That would make things much easier.
My daughter is 5. At home she drinks smoothies and juice but I can't send those to school with her, the juice would oxidize (I don't have a masticating juicer either).
Today I gave her sliced apples with nut butter, a green salad with lentil sprouts, a banana and some hummus, but I'm running out of ideas lol!

What about Noris roll almond butter, bananna(squeeze OJ or lemon on it) Honey. YUMMY.
I use lemons in my juice to keep it from turning. Un toasted Nori rolls My kids love taking seaweed to school.
I love Chia pudding. That is good for breakfast. Blend Chia seeds, almondmilk. vanilla, agave nector. So yummy.

My sons favorite Bfast. Spinach, blueberries, juice of 1 orange, bananna oatmeal coconut kefir, agave, blended it makes a thick breakfast pudding.

Cucumber boats. Scrape out the seeds like a boat put nut butter mixture in it. Make a trail mix with nuts N seeds.

Do you have a dehydrator and a food processor????

I am assuming this is a nut free place

I will make more suggestion, but here is some idea

Get some young coconut and make noddle with it. You can make a marina sauce with this. I usually separate both noddle and sauce and let my daughter separate them.

You can make pancake. The fruit leather from Allissa recipe, and the filling use coconut also, blend with a little bit of coconut water, honey and vanilla.

    You can make pizza crackers.

Vegetable and a delicious dip. (soak sesame seed, then rinse them, add cumin, coriander, salt a little bit of sweetner and lemon juice. If your children are up to it, you can add green onion or a little bit of garlic.

Chocolate pudding (same as the banana pancake filling but add raw cacao)

You can make all kind of burgers or patte with sunflower seed or pumpkin seeds.

You can send fresh orange juice, fresh coconut water.

    You can make cookies

    You can make wrap

    Etc... etc....

Thanks for the suggestions Tracey! For some strange reason she doesn't like chia pudding, and it's so yummy!! I'll keep trying though cause chia seeds are so nutritious.
That pudding you mentioned, can I make it the night before?

Those are great ideas, but I don't have a dehydrator.

You can buy raw crackers most place

-Salsa (not spicy of course) with crackers or cabbage cut in triangle
-You can still make humus and with the humus you can make the cheese recipe of Allisa, just don't use the nut but the soaked sesame seed.

-you still can do the vegetable plate.

    -Chocolate pudding

-Coconut noddle (young coconut and you slice in noddle), serve with any sauce

-You still can make pate with pumpkin seed or sunflower seed

-You can make wrap with the kale

There is a book called raw made easy for 2, they don't use dehydrator, you can substitute all nuts with something else always.

I like to put my breakfast smoothie leftovers in jars to drink later in the day, maybe they oxidize a bit but I bet they are still better then sodas, pasteurized juice, or milk.

I understand you don't have one, but get a dehydrator. Then you can pack pizza, crackers, cookies, chips, and so much more. But the salads and veggies/fruits and dips are probably the healthiest things you could pack, so it may seem to get old, but switch up the dressings and dips and vegetables and fruits and it never has to.

You can always go for boiled vegetables and juices. Fruits are a good option as well. There are many innovative ideas for kids as well in which way you can turn this diet an exciting meal for them to enjoy.

You're right Rawdad, fruit and salads are definately the best choices. I 'll probably be getting a dehydrator soon, so I'll go crazy making crackers and veggie burgers. Yum!

I love the gorilla sandwich idea! Thanks so much iwuvmydoggy!
