Default I Was Here By Myself - Now There Are Two of Us!

    Greetings Fellow Travelers!

Last month, I recommitted myself to raw. Yay me!! I soon feel silent. That wasn't because I'd fell off of the wagon, so to speak; but because I waited a bit for another to get his leg up on it, too: my husband _ the confessed carnivor. "You're NOT going to take away my meat!!!" ( lol Bless his heart )

We are newly married and a lot of "new" things have come into our paths just this month alone. One of which is a new job for him ( taking him off of the International travel road ) and then, the other day, the offer for an even better job. All Great News! All of which, I think, has helped my husband sit still long enough to _listen_ and _watch_ as I changed my diet. He was never around long enough to see. He gave me all of the leeway I needed, but said that it was my own perogative and to do what I felt I had to do for myself. He was going to reset his metabolism a different way; a way that didn't work the first time, either. ( grinning )

My husband's weight has skyrocketed, his blood sugar is spiking, and various other symptoms are aggrivated. He is only 42. HIs father complained to me, "He's too heavy! He has to stop this!", almost as if he were wrangling ME to make him change. I have only been able to do so much for him. He was mostly away all of last year. He ate very poorly citing whatever excuse coming to mind. I knew from watching him it was his blood sugar and pancreas doing the talking. Danger! Danger! Danger! His body and mind were addicted.

After a few very bad injuries including two separate broken neck situations, his health declined. He and I used to be athletes _ record breakers. And then, life. Anyway, excuses aside, we are here to make a difference and to rebuild.

I started him on fruit smoothies. He loved them. I then juiced for him. He loved them. We then went shopping for different sorts of organic and vegetarian items. He thought they were different, but "cool." He loves Manna Bread. ( hahaha ) I've had a bit of a fight wrangling cow's dairy from him until he saw, "FORKS OVER KNIVES".... A Dr. Campbell documentary from THE CHINA STUDY.... ( a book he downloaded immediately)

After he began seeing some effects of the juicing and the smoothies ( fruit and green ), he began asking more questions. After the Holiday Season, and enough Southern fare to choke a horse three times, he caved!

We traveled to Atlanta where I purchased organic spices, etc, a better prices than here. I will order online for now.

For Christmas he bought me a DEHYDRATOR! ( Yay!!!)
    And:
Both of Alyssa's books and DVD
I wanted to the first book for him and the second book for me. My original copy is lost.

    I bought him a ROKU.

On the ROKU, we get Netflix. On the Netflix we spent a week just watching documentaries on food, organics, fasting, and major weightloss on organic live foods.
He told me the other day he wishes to pay for me to become a live food and sustainable gardening coach.
    WHAT???? ( dances )

Today is his FIRST DAY on juice fast. I got up early and preparted his breakfast drink and then filled a container for him to consume at work.
He's hooked. And he's excited! I took the pulp and mixed it with other things to make a morning smoothy for me.

One of the programs that did the most to help him see the difference was, "FAT, SICK, AND NEARLY DEAD"

This gentleman from Australia came to the US to document 60 days of juicing, transitional eating and lifestyle changes; which have saved his life and made him look like another person. He's the same age as my husband. That struck the "man chord" with him.

So, now _ you have BOTH OF US!!

    I couldn't be more pleased.

Last night, I found a place in town that helps coach _ for free!
    It's all coming together.

Tonight, I take our starting pictures.
It would have been sooner, but I came down with a terrible something that I nursed with green smoothies until I was better.

that is so awesome he's joining with you. The support of people around you will go such a long way!! Watching media about raw/fasting/organic really helps me stay on track too and occupies me while I'm fasting but I don't have netflix.
