Where are my challenge buddies?? We've made it 29 days we can make it another day or two ;)
Hard day emotionally here Thyroid giving me fits, and then I was having a pity party this morning because my hubby was cooking a huge
breakfast for him and the kids. He made the whole house smell so good!! I wouldn't have eaten most of it anyways, but the smell was hard to handle.
I made me a green juice and told myself that I was doing this to feel better and to heal my body. I convinced myself that there was not an option, and to
push through and I would be better off for it. So, I did, and I did feel good for not giving in.
Tonight was hard at church because we had a pot luck dinner and I didn't have time to go to the store to prepare a "raw meal" so I ate there and ate
oranges. Everyone knows I already eat differently, but it was funny because this little boy told his mom tonight, "Mom, Ms. Cathy is always just eating
fruit when I see her!" I thought it was cute.
We got home late tonight and it was too late to eat my salad that I was planning on eating, so I ate some chia pudding with banana. I didn't want the
salad with avocado sitting on my tummy all night. At least I will still have my avocado for tomorrow. I only have one left in the house

Here is what my day looked like...

Green Juice- Kale (lots of it), Meyer Lemon, Granny Smith Apple, Celery, and Ginger

    2 Bananas

Boat load of orange slices. In fact I kept going back up to the table and refilling my plate with orange slices :) There is no telling how many
    oranges I ate.

Chia Pudding, Lucuma Powder, 2 Bananas

    Night!!

    Good morning people!

I'm here too Cathy, and I know what you mean. Hubby made dinner for him and the kids last night, and it really was hard, but I had some raw crackers with tomato, drizzled with olive oil and salt, and I felt much better.
I don't remember what else I had yesterday... Lots of bananas and clementines, a couple of green smoothies, and carrot juice...

    I'm back too, Cathy!

It was a rough weekend for me as well, I was fasting and also serving two teenage boys some VERY tempting-smelling food all weekend!

Anyhow I got through my three days juice fasting and am THRILLED to be eating solids again today hahahahahaa! Right now I'm having some orange/grapefruit juice, but yesterday I stocked up on bananas and grapes so I'll be having lots of fruit today to transition back to solids.

Also today I'm putting up a fresh batch of juice pulp/flax crackers in the dehydrator.... extra spicy because of all the jalapeno I've been juicing, YUM. If I can get to the market I'll pick up eggplants for eggplant crackers too.

Approaching the end of this 30-day challenge, words cannot express how much better I look and feel today than when I began. My face is changing and becoming more defined. Two extra inches of fat have just melted off my waist! I feel younger and more optimistic, my body doesn't ache when I wake up anymore. Whether it's juice fasting or just eating raw, right now my body seems happiest jumping back and forth.

I'm definitely on board for next month! Hooooooray for us all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi, Im still here too, just not been logging in for a bit. been suffering with stress and haven't had much appetite at all for the past few days.
food is hard when you don't feel like eating, but know you should eat something :s

I've been craving savory cracker/bread type things and fats. so i've made some tomatoe, olive and seed bread that's in the D right now :)

all i've eaten today is a chia and banana smoothie and an apple. the apple is making me feel more hungry now, so thats something. Don't know what it is about apples that seem to stir my appetite??

I can't believe it's the end of january already. it's day 24 for me today. I was hoping to have released more weight than I have, only about 4-5lbs has gone and I think most of that was water weight. then again my tum is almost back to my previous raw slimness and I can get into my small jeans again, just seems the scales aren't moving down readily. maybe i've built up muscle or something??

well anyway, here's to another month of raw!!

As promised (to myself)...I am back on track with this being my first 100% raw day in a loooong time, as such I have to admit today was easy..it's amazing what "I can do this...darn it" attitude can do for a resolution..

Breakfast after an hour of Get Shredded w.o and spinning was a lovely Green smoothie
Snack before lunch was two amazing fuji apples'
Lunch was a pretty nice bowl of cabbage/cauliflower (homegrown I might add ) and celery slaw...delish.
Snack after lunch was 2 bananas and then later also some almonds
Dinner was a huge plate of the above mentioned cabbage/veggie slaw with a half of an avocado mashed in...again delish..

I am glad to be back, this community of like minded peeps is a huge resource for me...I just simply forgot how much I needed it.

    Day one is complete.

Petra, I've always wanted to try a spinning class, but have always been to nervous to try it. How long have you been doing it?
Does it hurt your lower back at first?

    Today I had....
Green Juice YAY!! Made with lots of Rainbow Swiss Chard, Celery, Ginger, Mayer Lemon, 2 Granny Smith Apples
Chia Pudding with Cacao Powder and a banana of course ;)
    Dehydrated Pineapple
    Kale Chips
BIG Salad with 2 heads of Romaine, 1 Avocado, and my homemade ranch. I also used some sea flakes for my topping.
Chia Pudding with Lucuma Powder, and 2 Bananas. I think I could do the fruitatarian diet if I knew I could eat as many bananas as I wanted HA :)

Tomorrow is my MRI of the pituitary and hypothalamus glands. They will be using IV contrast so I plan on doing a lot of green juice and distilled water
tomorrow. I'm going to try and juice fast tomorrow, but I'm not going to promise. I will make sure I get lots of greens in, and maybe instead of doing a
juice fast, I will do juice and a big green smoothie. I think the fiber will help to get rid of the contrast in my bowels. I did not want to have to do this, but
we really need to know if we are dealing with a Pituitary Tumor, or to see what we are dealing with so I can take the diagnosis and then decide on my
    own way of treating whatever.

Thanks guys and gals it's been a great 30 days, and I plan to keep going. I'm not sure I'll be posting on the 30 Day Challenge Board, but I will be
eating raw and juicing my greens :)

Good luck today cathy! It sounds like you've got a good plan with sticking to green juices and lots of water. Please let us know how it goes

I had a wonderful raw day yesterday:

Breakfast was one quart orange/grapefruit juice and 2 bananas
lunch was an amazing smoothie of spinach, 3 bananas, sprouts and grapes.... YUM... and a little later a gorgeous massaged kale salad w grated beets and carrots.
That pretty much filled me up for the day so I just had another banana or two before bed.

I dehydrated some veggie/nut burgers last night... sort of nervous though as I tend to over-eat those kinds of dehydrated goodies! Think I might just stick with flax crackers from now on.....

Welcome to the challenge, Petra! It sounds like you're doing GREAT. I looooooove spinning, too! Maybe you'll inspire me to start going to class again.

Have a great day everyone! Hopefully I won't eat more than FOUR nut burgers today hahahahahhaa.....

    Best of luck Cathy!

Qwerty, what nut burger recipe do you use?

I'm still lacking in appetite, though I'm not sure if it might actually just be a lack of interest in food at the moment. i'm finding my mind just draws a blank when i think I should eat something, I have no idea what I'd like to eat. it's quite strange.

    Today has been
    banana and mango smoothie
    small salad
    apple
    small raw brownie
and will be some sort of raw sarnie for dinner

Well done all on your 30 day challenges!
see you in the feb thread!

Thanks everyone for thinking of me today!!
It went well, and I took Activated Charcoal after the procedure to hopefully bind that contrast that they gave my via IV.
It was funny though because before I went in I had drank my 2nd green juice for the day. He went to put the IV in and he said WHOA, that is some
veins you have!! I haven't seen a vein like that in months!! I told him what I had drank and that I had been doing a 30 raw food challenge. He said
Well, whatever you are doing, keep it up because it's working!! I thought that was a nice compliment ;)

16 oz Green Juice- Kale, Celery, Mayer Lemon, Ginger, Granny Smith Apples
    Chia Pudding, Lucuma Powder, Banana
16 oz Green Juice- Kale, Celery, Mayer Lemon, Ginger, Granny Smith Apples
Carrot Pulp Patty, Carrot Chips, Homemade Ranch
    Pecans
    Chia Pudding, Lucuma Powder, Banana
a little bit of hemp seed butter
I ended up eating and not just juice fasting, but I did get in 32 oz of dark green juice, and A LOT of water. I also am taking the Charcoal, so hopefully
all this contrast will leave my body very soon.
I will continue to eat raw, but I don't think I will be posting on the boards this month.
I wish everyone health and happiness!!!
    Blessings,
    Cathy

I'm back...second day 100% RAW and feeling fine..

Cathy I have a spinning bike at home..my Christmas present...jippea, but before I got this I took spinning for a few years, in the beginning hardcore, I really got bit by the spinning bug..It doesn't bother my lower back, curving your back out is key though, makes your stomach muscles take most of the weight so to speak, arching your back is bad, in this instance at least. I love, love love spinning..so easy and quick for shaping up and gentle on knees.
I am glad your tests went well today..and YES very nice compliment indeed.

Thank you for the welcome Qwerty ;)

Today I woke up and did another 30 minute weight workout followed by my trusted spinning.. after that I had a huge Green Smoothie for breakfast...can't belive it but I just today saw an article saying Green Smoothies are not good for you...crikey...well I don't care...love'em.
For snack I had two apples
Lunch was another one of my lovely cabbage/cauliflower slaws, this time with 1/2 of an avocado mixed in for creaminess.
Pm Snack was some almonds and pineapple.
Dinner was a huge green salad with pineapple and some olive oil...yum
Just finished a banana, now I am done...oh wait..I also had three tsp of Manuka honey throughout the day, I can feel a sore throat coming on and was trying to kick it before it kicks me..so to speak.

Super excited to say I made it through my second day...this after I left that rather pathetic cry for help in will power stamina in the discussions thread, I am so so happy to be back among my many lovely peers..it helps. Thank you..

I use this wonderful recipe posted here by HeatherAnne. Last time I made adjustments to the seasonings... but it just didn't come out nearly as good as the original!
