Donnyandcathy, I totally relate to everything you said!!
About the kale chips, I buy them, I don't make them, so I can't eat too many of them anyway. Unfortunately I don't have a dehydrator, and... we have no kale in Greece. Collard greens might be a good alternative, why don't you try?

I know how you feel with the cravings, it's kind of cold right now here too so I'm craving warm food. What helps me get through these times is cashew butter, olives and raw crackers, and once I get my spiralizer, I'll go crazy making zucchini and cucumber pasta.

    Have a good night everyone!

Hmm, that hummus sounds delicious.. I have some tahini so I think I'll be getting some chick peas to sprout very soon to try that!
Also never tried avo in a smoothie but that's a good idea to get a more "filling" meal with more fat.

Didn't have much of an appetite but loads of energy when I'm awake. When I sleep I am out like a rock, and sleep in very late unless I force myself to get up. Luckily I've had the last few days off work so I can rest. Does anyone go through similar detox with sleep patterns?

So today I had a huge bowl of strawberries and 2 clementines.
For lunch another bowl of strawberries, 1/2 avocado.
Been drinking coconut water A LOT so I guess my body needs to electrolytes. or just better hydration.
Dinner not sure of yet. Maybe a smoothie, or some raw almond butter on celery sticks.

Some things I'm noticing this detox are:
    >better skin (no dark circles, no puffiness, no bumps or uneven areas, better skin tone, less redness)
    >no bloat
    >better muscle definition (while lifting weights it seems like my muscles are more defined, and I can lift with greater ease.
    >the urge to just get up and move...this has happened each time I've detoxed, but even more so in January when i'm sick with cabin fever.
    >better nails and hair. Usually very brittle nails, but they are growing and look beautiful
    >ease of breath. I can take deep breaths and it feel wonderful and uplifting.

I felt super good after eating all those strawberries so maybe I'll try mono eating for a few days with different fruits and throw in juice in there each morning to make sure I get my greens. For those that do mono eating...are there days where you eat a lot of fatty foods or do you just randomly incorporate some fat with the mono food?

Every one seems to be doing great, and it's a comfort to read everyone's daily post. It's very encouraging to stick with this.

Genesis 1:12 And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind,
and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind:
and God saw that it was good.

mmm, all this talk of hummus is making me crave it! I might have to whip up some zucchini hummus tomorrow. :-)

Today I had a papaya for breakfast, and then a whole half of a watermelon for an afternoon snack. I also made what I'm calling Five Spice Collard Wraps for lunch with a raw peanut dip:

This was yummy. The wraps were stuffed with a mixture of cabbage, carrots, celery, green onion, lime juice, and some freshly ground and mixed five spice. The peanut sauce was made from raw jungle peanuts (which taste similar to, but not the same as regular peanuts), a date and some water. With more five spice sprinkled on top.

All the talk about Kale chips, I had to fix some today ;) They are in the dehydrator and should be ready for tomorrow.
    Today I had...
Chia Pudding, Lucuma Powder, 1 Banana
BIG Green Smoothie with Rainbow Swiss Chard, Apple, Orange, Cherries, Mango, Cilantro, Maca Powder, Goji Berry Powder
    Homemade Flax Crackers
1 Banana, Chia Pudding ;) Lucuma Powder
    Rawtella, Banana

Tomorrow we are going out for our Anniversary. My hubby asked where I could eat. He is not raw or even vegan, so I know that he wants to make sure
that wherever we go, I will be able to eat and enjoy it. I picked Longhorn Steakhouse because they have really big salads and I can pick what I want on
it. I will take my own dressing, and maybe even some cut up avocado ;)

Another simple day. Like the idea of mono eating. I look forward to when spring/summer comes so
I can just eat watermelon for a meal. They were great last year.

Up and out very early this AM, so made orange grapefruit juice and then made a spirulina shake out of it.
Getting back into the habit of atleast two glasses of lemon water before breakfast. I slightly take the chill out of it.
Lunch was a delicious smoothie. Used my new smoothie machine, and it was amazing. I had apple, coconut milk, strawberries, blueberries,
and peaches. I forgot to bring sweetner to the office, but I am used to not making my drinks or recipes too sweet anyway.
Dinner I munched on some dry fruit and the almond cookies I made in the dehydrator. They came out too dry. So, back to the drawing board.
I'm determined to make something fun.
I bought some kale chips from the natural grocer since I'm didn't have any kale left. I took one bite (don't remember brand) and
thought for the first time in many, many years, I would throw up. They were so bad. I'm bringing them back to the store to have the manager try it. They are trying to make an effort to order more raw products, but they really should try them first. uck.
I'll pick up some kale tomorrow, and I also use the nutritional yeast for that cheesy flavor.

Good morning everyone! I haven't been posting here for a while since I stopped to do a juice fast this month.

Your meals all sound so delicious I couldn't even bring myself to read this thread while fasting hahahahaa -- and those pictures, YUM!

Anyhow so I was ten days on fruit and vegetable juice, then broke it the 11th day with some oranges for dinner.

    Yesterday I ate:

sprout sandwich -- sprouts, avocado and onion between flax/pulp crackers
    spinach/banana/apple green smoothie for lunch
massaged kale salad w sprouts, grated carrots and chopped green cabbage for dinner

My detox from the juice fast is still hitting full force -- I was in bed with chills/sore throat yesterday. Also I got a pimple (which NEVER happens) and still have strange rough patches on my face.

I'm not too worried. I know it's detox. I'm going to eat raw for a week, then continue on with another juice fast as I clearly have some cleaning out to do!

Today I had my favorite breakfast, which is flax crackers and guacamole. YUM! It keeps me full for HOURS.

I'm planning a smoothie for lunch and dinner's still open.... I have some brocolli so either marinated salad or cheezy brocolli soup.

Hmmmm..... all this talk of kale chips has me thinking of making up some chips? Usually I massage the kale w nutritional yeast, EVOO, soy sauce, ACV and tahini..... but I'm thinking of trying just the EVOO, yeast and sea salt combo this time.

    Have a RAWSOME day everyone!!!

Hahahahhaaaa -- hiya, I needed a break too! After 10 days it was getting harder to concentrate on my work because I was really getting hungry.... my intuition is telling me to do a series of shorter fasts until the Spring, so I'm going to be doing that for a while.

I'll probably be joining you if you start again next week!

Also, I wouldn't worry about your husband not drinking fruit juice right now. He'll start craving them if his body is needing them, don't you think?

I hope he listens he is a stubborn man. He saw the truck driver on the movie only drink green juice so thats what he wants to do.

Im still drinking lots of juice even though im not fasting. I crave it.

Hey everyone, I just wanted you to know that I am going to be deleting my membership from this forum today. It has been a most interesting experience to be a part of it. I'm finding that I no longer enjoy many of the topics and posts that are on here, and it's become more of a source of irritation to me than joy. So, onto greener pastures I suppose. I wish you all well, and I'll definitely be continuing with raw. Take care everyone!

I loved your posts. So sad you are leaving. I loved your great pictures of the yummy food. I know sometimes I feel a little bullied or intimidated about posting so I never put all of heart into it. Its sucks to have somebody jump down your throat for your opinion. I know you are blessed with caring and kindness. Continue your raw journey hope it brings you great health. : (

    Red face

I am an official newbie here. I have only been raw since Jan. 1, 2012. I researched and researched and going raw seems to be the best for the human body plus, I wanted to start my year off right with an all raw food (fruit and vegetable only) cleanse. I'm actually enjoying it so much I think I'm really going to focus on making this my new lifestyle. the only problem is that I'm running out of food plans and ideas. I'm thankful to have found this forum because you guys are giving me some fabulous ideas

    Welcome to the forum RawRita!

Its almost 1 am and my son is falling asleep while nursing in my arms. I'm too exhasted to write what I ate, it's been a loooong day. I'll just say I had a pesto avocado soup for dinner, and it was really yummy.
Also, is there a recipe for that cheesy broccoli soup? Its sounds great!
