A great day.. very high energy today for some reason. :-)
For breakfast, I had a banana and a couple of walnuts.
For lunch, we made simple sushi.. we just took some avocado, cucumber and microgreens and wrapped them in a nori wrap. I was surprised at how good it tasted without any kind of sticky rice-type stuff. We've been trying to keep our diet a lot more simple, and most of the raw rice recipes I have found rely heavily on very processed nuts, so I just decided to try it without the rice altogether. I think I might even like it better this way!
For an afternoon snack, I asked the hubby to cut up a fresh mango for me since I know I am allergic to the skins. He was very careful to not let the oil from the skin touch the flesh, and I delighted in eating it, but then a short while later my throat became very sore. So sadly, I think I am going to have to give up mangoes altogether. Boo!
For dinner, we'll have a large green salad, maybe with a comice pear which is super ripe and tasty here right now.

Day one for me, I was going to start yesterday but I wasn't prepared and had to start work at the wee hours of the morning that my body wasn't used to. Any who, today was a good day.
I had bananas and coconut water for breakfast. Strawberries and blueberries for snack. I was working so I needed something that didn't need to be blended/juiced so whole fruit was the way to go!
For lunch I had a big salad with cucumber, celery, avocado, hemp seed, green and red bell peppers. Some of my mom's home-made simple oil dressing. A handful of prunes. Some more water w/ fresh lemon in it.
I tend to detox right off the bat so I felt super sluggish after work. Took an hour nap and was miraculously re-energized. Ready to conquer the world, but notmuch of an appetite. So I just had a grapefruit for dinner. Some fresh coconut meat/juice and some olives.
I think I might do some pickling tomorrow, I'll go to the market and get some baby cucumbers. Also plan on making some raw desserts to satisfy my sweet tooth.
This month I plan on doing a lot of experimenting with new things I haven't tried yet. I need to take more chances and risks in the raw food world to develop a wider variety of foods. It's amazing how much is out there, and I thought I was eating so many different things before! The main goal this month is to regain my energy and zest for life I've been longing for. I will gladly welcome ANY weight loss though as a bonus
Genesis 1:12 And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind,
and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind:
and God saw that it was good. "The most sublime truth of all has never been stated or written or sung,
not because it is far away and can’t be reached but because it is so intimately close,
closer than anything that can be spoken." - Gangaji

here's a picture of the carrot salad I made yesterday..

I've been doing good.. I made some very yummy kale chips and have been enjoying those all day. I also made another batch of the cultured nut cheese since my kiddos decided they loved it too.. My oldest has been making us yummy juices. Today's juice was pineapple/apple/cucumber with coconut water!! Yummy!!!
As always, I also enjoy a big salad every day with either hemp seeds or ground pumpkin seeds..
I've been experiencing alot of detox for some reason. I actually had some issues with my gallbladder this morning. I'm looking into ways to support that without doing the flush..

Hey Goodcat, sorry to hear you're having gallbladder issues. :-( I've been there, and that's the number one reason I'm now limiting nuts in my diet. Eating lower fat raw food is seeming to work really well and I've not had any gallbladder issues in a while. I still eat a few nuts here and there, but I totally cut out things like crackers made of fatty nuts & seeds, nut cheeses, and I try not to use any oils whatsoever. My gallbladder is much happier now. :)

Jumping in here to log my day before I head to bed.
I ended up doing green juice twice today, and then just had coconut water.
My green juices were the same as yesterday... Kale, Myer Lemon, Navel Orange, Celery, Granny Smith Apple. I LOVE this combination!!
Speltrong, your carrot salad looked yummy!! Have you posted a recipe anywhere?
I'm also sorry that you don't do well with Mangos I LOVE me some Mango ;)
My oldest daughter is also having trouble with her gallbladder. I hope you stay pain free!!!
Night!!

Today I had tbsp chia seeds in water and a salad w/ sunflower seed dressing
I've not been hungry because i'm having the big C and haven't had a BM in 5 days. Trying pretty desperately to get that moving so I can start the more intense detoxification... any
suggestions?

Today I started off with a green smoothie with bananas, collard greens and parsley.
Bunch of grapes
Handful of almonds
This afternoon I found a close to expiry date eggplant in the fridge. Originally bought for eggplant bacon.
It wasn't going to last another day, so I decided to try something..
I salted and washed the eggplant to get rid of the bitterness, chopped it into blocks and made a tahini, olive oil and
lemon juice dressing. I so hate wasting food, but after a few bites, I had to resign myself to the fact that
it was absolutely DISGUSTING! In the bin it went.
Dinner will be a safe salad methinks...

Day 3 for me still doing my juice fast. All of your foods sound yummy. I would love some Kale chips now. Im experiencing some good house cleaning so Im going to continue my fast today. I will not end it today. I was so tempted. I got a huge box of organic goodies from the co-op I joined I wanted to eat everything but I juiced it instead. I made collard, daikon radish, lemon, and apple. I hope it tastes good. It has a strong smell but I know its nutritious. Enjoy the benefits of your raw day.

Thanks speltstrong... I had made the decision last night to cut out the nuts for awhile. I think I was totally over doing it in that department. The thing is... that was the first time ever I had any issue with my gallbladder acting up. Oh well... I'm still going forward and I do believe my body will heal.
I'm down 6 lb. since I started all raw on Dec.28th. That was very encouraging!!
Cathy... How does your daughter dealing with her gallbladder?? Is she raw/natural??
Blessings,
Cathy

YUM -- thanks for sharing, this is looking like today's lunch to me!
Tomorrow I'm starting a juice feast..... I'm thinking of trying juices one week, then all smoothies another week, then back to juices..... but we'll see how it goes.

I've had really good results with drinking senna tea (like Smooth Move) or taking a few senna tablets.
But FIRST -- have you tried apple juice? Aleesha posted once that whenever she has that problem, she makes a whole liter of fresh apple juice and it works for her. I tried it when I had this problem during a fast -- I drank down a whole liter and had IMMEDIATE relief hahahahhaa!
(Try sprinkling it with cinammon, yum..... tastes like apple pie!)

Yeah Qwerty Im glad your joining us.
I had a problem last night with the tea. I put it in my blog its too embarassing to put here. Im going to try apple juice next time.

It's so awesome to read about how everyone else is doing!!
I wasn't very hungry when I woke up this am, so I just had an apple and some water for breakfast. I am getting hungry now, so I need to eat. I think I'll have a green salad with carrots and avocado for lunch. I've been craving lettuce like crazy lately, so I've been eating a ton of greens.
