Dec 2011 - 30 Day Challenge - Join ANYtime of the month!
Welcome welcome welcome!!!
Welcome to the 30 day challenge and welcome to our new monthly format.
This is our monthly challenge thread. We are choosing to do one (or perhaps split into two) continual threads so we can create a community of support within this challenge. You can join this thread at any time during the month. Don't be shy... we love new posters!!! So if you want to join us... please do!
I welcome people who are already 100% raw to join in the conversation - supporting our challengers in their quest!
This thread is specifically for those of you who are eager to commit to 30 consecutive days of eating 100% raw foods and seeing miraculous results!
I will start a new challenge thread on the first of every month. If I forget... send me a quick email and remind me... I'll get the challenge thread online for you quickly.
The focus of the monthly challenge is on staying raw and accountability. Therefore, if you have eaten all raw and then slip up and have something cooked, don't beat yourself up over it or dwell on it - but this is not space to discuss it. You are more than welcome to document it in your journal/blog or ask for help in the discussion area, but it is not necessary (and not allowed) to discuss your slip-up here in the challenge threads, just get right back on track and keep going! This thread is about celebrating what you are eating that IS raw!
I welcome you all to share pics of your dishes, ask questions, share what you are consuming (as long as it's raw). We are here to listen to your emotional and physical challenges. So share share share!!!
OH and the best part of this (not only the support but...) you can subscribe to this thread and get notified every time someone posts to it. This way you will be connected!
So let's get this party started!!!

I am so excited for this challenge. I have been juicing like crazy. Last night I had pineapple/cucumber/parsley juice. SOO good. Today so far Orange, cranberry, and apple. For lunch I made spinach, celery, apple, lemon juice. I brought plenty of fruits to snack on. I did weigh myself this morning 152 lbs. I am hoping to get to 145. Rawkon December challengers.

I'm in it to win it!
Let's get this party started!!!
I have to busta-move to the grocery store. I am out of most of everything.... trust me, there's nothing to "shope" in my kitchen store!
I am glad to have the ability and priviledge to be here again.

Aniakrysia,
speaking of juicing _ as you've brought that up in your Challenge intro.....
Earlier this year, I purposefully bought a food processor with a juicing attachment. I've not juiced anything but a lemon ( currently in my water ) in years. Neither have I experienced a green smoothy in just about as long ago. I showed my wonderful new husband the huge bag of carrots at the local healthfood store. He thinks this is "neat"
I'd have him on juice right now, but he's on the road for business, at lunch this very minute, and trying to eat "salads" all by his lonesome.
God Bless Him.
Me? Off to the store I go, shortly, and I will juice my first carrot/granny smith tonight!
I've not eaten all day - (I know, baaaaad !) _ and I'm so hungry...

Yay I'm in I've been 100% raw for the last week and I'm gonna keep on going
-
Christi, good for you!!
I did good today. For lunch, I stuck to what I said above only had a salad: organic mixed greens, tomatoes, cucumbers, mandarines, strawberries, raw almonds and sunflower seeds with blood orange vinagraitte.
Got home and made myself another salad with: lettuce, tomato, apple, raw pecans, and raw cranberries.
Right now I am enjoying a large glass of pink grapefruit and apple juice. Yummy!
The last 2 months I have been making raw smoothies and I invested in a Vita Mix blender but I miss just having a juice sometime. Yesterday, my new Omega Juicer arrived and I'm so happy to be able to make tasty fresh juices.

Wow what a great start to the December Challenge. I am so happy to be doing this challenge with such motivated people.
Yesterday I ate big salad for lunch with creamy avocado dressing. I had green juice the rest of the day.
This morning was fresh orange juice now I sipping on water with ACV and honey. Im only having juice until 6 pm.
Have a rawsome day.....

Hey! You're doing great _ already!
I just set a large bowl of dates, raisins, dried pineapple, sunflower seeds, almonds etc.. to soak a bit before it's pulverized in the bullet processor. Then, rolled with coconut.
Yum! Who would think you could have 'candy' and detox? Granted, its not straight juice. But remembering detox last time, the heavier food kept me on keel until my body behaved better ( I was really sickly then )
I bought my first round of produce last night. I can't wait for a salad later What I don't have are organic sun-dried spices anymore..
I have to think through this - My husband will return from California on the 15th, two days after his official birthday.
One, I want enough money to buy him a "tablet", and two _ what am I going to feed him and .... birthday celebration?
Oh dear... LOL

Nice to see ya!
You mentioned creamy avocado dressing...
I lost my Alyssa stuff during a rather awful time and move. Is there a receipe for it you recommend _ one found online somewhere? It sounds heavenly.
And, do you use Nama Shoyu, Barriani's or another Tamari ?

Hi Christy
I used one soft Avocado, Lime juice, honey, olive oil and an little ACV salt and pepper. It was very good to me. I wanted something creamy for a change.
Your candy sounds so yummy. I might try to make some. I have dates coconut and chocolate and home ready to be used. Im Juice fasting until 6 pm. I will be making treats all weekend.
I bought seasame seeds to make seasame milk. I love it with honey. It is so good. I Just soak, add water blend with raw honey and strain. Its supposed to be very good for you too.
Raw carrot cake is good if have time to make it for your hubby. You can buy online from Glaser Farms they have yummy pies and cakes but a little pricey.

I live in Chicago and have been raw for about a week now, very much enjoying my bananas and celery sticks and stuff. I felt the need to get some variety though and found a line of raw foods at the French Market. I got some of the rye bread which is kind of a cross between bread and crackers. I got to sample a bunch of other things since they were serving them. I liked some of them, but not all. Does anyone know of any other place to get raw food products in Chicago?

It's so cool to see everyone's posts and share! I've not been very hungry today, so all I've had is some water and a banana. But I need to go to the store and get some more food because I am craving lettuce like craaazzzyyy!
