Default Starting raw to lose lots of pounds

Hello! May name's Gayle and I'm starting raw tomorrow. I ordered Alissa's book through interlibrary loan until I can buy it. I should have it in my hands soon. Right now I'm reading The Complete Idiot's Guide to Eating Raw. I am 5'8" and weigh 240 lbs right now. I have tried a bunch of stuff, like Weight Watchers, Nutrisystem, Slim Fast, etc but I always get sick of all the weighing and measuring and counting and keeping track. Nutrisystem was probably the easiest, but not cheap. I have thought about going raw for awhile and now I'm ready to do it. I know you can lose weight just by sticking with raw foods and not having to write down and weigh foods and all that boring stuff. I'm going to start a blog on here and document the results. Looking forward to doing this and getting to know you all.

Nice to meet you! I went raw six days ago and have lost six pounds so far! Raw is certainly the best way to go to lose weight (restriction vs. abundance) I look forward to seeing how you do, if you fall off track get back on! Good luck! :)

    Gayle,

I know that everyone's experience is different, but I went raw four months ago and I have lost 58 pounds. And I feel great! I don't count calories or stress out about what I'm eating - I just eat what I feel like having each day and it's working out so far! Good luck to you!

Thanks for the replies! I went shopping today and bought avocados, salad mix, 2 kinds of apples, oranges, mushrooms, bananas, and strawberries. I already had in my fridge vinaigrette dressing, olives, walnuts, carrots, pickles, and a variety of teas. I need to eventually buy some kitchen tools, like a dehydrator, but I already have apretty good juicer and a yogurt maker. I think you can probably make yogurt out of nut milks and such, am I right? I know you can make soy yogurt with a yogurt maker.
I asked this question also in the proper forum. :)
