Wink New to raw, and Detoxing.

Hi, I'm James. I am new to this community. I have been feeling sick for a couple years now. and I decided that going Raw was one on the best things to do for myself. I started eating 100% at the beginning on November. And I am going through what seems to be Detox. But I am really kind of scared about this. Basically one day I woke up and I was breaking out really badly. This has continued for about 9 days now. I have been drinking lots of water and getting lots of sleep. I have been eating salads in the mornings and at night. with peppers and cucumbers. and for snacks I will eat an apple and a banana. I guess I am just hoping to hear some more detox stories from all of you. And how they effected you and how long they lasted.

Thanks a lot. I look forward to getting to know you all.

eating a wide variety of raw foods and getting lots of fluids meant I only had a bad caffeine withdrawal headache for about 3-4 days. Otherwise I had pretty much no detox symptoms. I put this down to variety and sheer quantity of raw foods eaten.

If you eat raw nuts and seeds then soak them first. Other than that it's hard to say really because we are all different have different reactions. I have always eaten lots of fruit and veg all my life even when I also ate other stuff so maybe that helped me too. Hard to tell.

Stick with it and you'll soon really feel the benefits

I started with a fast, so my detox was probably even a little stronger. Mild acne was already a problem for me on my face and upper back. At first I did have a little bit of a break out but it disappeared quickly and then my skin was more clear than before. You probably just need to wait it out.

Do you feel tired as well? I have been fasting on and off and eating raw and feeling very tired! I think it's just a symptom of detox, though.

honey be happy u are only breaking out right now ... when i first went raw (7 yrs ago , been on and off with raw for that long , five of those years have been raw ) i went through a whole four wks of flu like symptoms ... course i have always been able to caught anything , even if it isnt contagious and it has always lasted at least two to four wks for me . (i have a low white blood cell count ) . stick with it and if the symptoms get too unmanageable try some herbal teas to help with whatever symptoms ur having or a nice oil bath of peppermint and lavender ... this will make u feel better . beet juice is a extreme cleanser so if u want to speed up the process i would do a 16 oz glass of half beet juice and half carrot juice to kick ur body into gear and clear it out faster . if u like the taste of beet by itself , u can try a whole glass by itself . good luck . u can do it !!!!
