Intuitively descerning what food is 'right' for you.
I read in a book one time that you can actually put your hand over your food before eating it and know intuitively if you should eat it or not. That is, if it's good or bad for you. But, i've certainly never meet anyone who could do that.
But, when you think about it. Animals in the wild seem to be intuitive like that. Nobody has to tell them what to eat. They just intuitively go for the food that is right for them. Humans on the other hand, while we're suppose to be much more intelligent, can't seem to figure out what is 'right' for us to eat on our own. Most of us are still confused on that. We certainly don't all agree on what we should be eating. Seriously, where is our intuition?
I've heard that eating raw living food not only effects your health, but also effects you spiritually. Maybe makes you feel more connected to the earth and to God. Maybe over time we would even get our intuition back that we seem to have lost. And then, like the animals in the wild we would just know what food is right for us, and we wouldn't have to just take somebody elses word for it.
So, here is a questions for those who have been on a raw living food diet for some time. Has it had a spiritual effect on you? Have you noticed an increase in your intuitive abilities? Does your intuition let you know what food is 'right' for you?

Yes, yes, and yes.
I have always been intuitive, but I find as raw food has put me in a much calmer and more peaceful state, I do feel more spiritually connected to the world, to the food I eat, to the issues I care about. I was definitely in a fog while eating SAD; couldn't think clearly, and angry or depressed most all of the time, but now I feel wonderful most of the time. And as I feel more connected to the food I eat, and as it rewards me with good health, with emotional balance, with joy and happiness, I eat more intuitively and worry less about a balance of this nutrient or those fats, etc etc.

I feel like I can, to some degree. Maybe not with something I've never eaten before. Sweet fruit always felt "wrong" to me, in fact I would wince at the phrase "sweet fruit" even when I was trying 80/10/10 and thought that was my cure all. After some experimenting, I did discover that they don't agree with me. And greens always felt "right" to me, even when I didn't know the facts behind it. As far as more specific foods, that's a harder signal to trust, don't think i'm that far
Avocados and lots of nuts and seeds, and eating more than 1000 calories also feels "wrong" to me, but that's the stage that I need to be at. I feel like ideally lots of greens, sprouts, algaes, seaweeds, wild berries, barks and edible flowers, and eating little, that's what feel 'right' (instinctively??) to me but i'm not near that stage yet.

Chinese 5 element food therapy is kind of intuitive. Using the diff flaors and properties of food, one can make a balanced meal, almost like a chemical formula. Our senses can taste acids and bases and salts and sweets, etc.
bitters are usually toxic......

I want to makea correction. Bitters are not "usually toxic", it's the other way around: toxic substances are often bitter. But there are evolutionary theorists which suggest that the bitter flavor was developed as an evolutionary mechanism against toxic substances in food.
IMO I don't know about that. Bitters can be very beneficial. There are also acids. Perhaps a reason why bitters are so good for us especially nowadays is that common diets in the worlds are acidic and bitters can neutralize this. Also the miture of bitters and acids produce salt resulting from the chemical reaction. hat would suggest that bitters which signal a basic substance, can help with digestion to produce bile salts in the body.
Food alchemy.
