Yeah Runraw!! Lots of changes to come!

I must admit that my clothes are looser too. In 6 weeks I lost 10 lbs. Not much, but it's a start. Especially since I have hypothyroidism. But more importantly I have energy!!! Haven't had that for 2 years.

Enjoyed my salad for lunch. The apples were delicious. But my dinner is now just a chocolate/banana/honey/walnut smoothie-shake. Wanted something really decadent and quick.

    Peace, Bonnie

    L: Green juice
D: 2 avos w/ salt lemon, broccoli sprouts + cucumber in romaine wraps

I also feel like running today! Odd to note.

    Hi all!

Wow, what a weekend thus far. First, congrats on all the weight losses I read about! KUDOS to all of you! Let's do this! My scale says a 10 lb weight loss, but I find that hard to believe since it hasn't even been a week yet. *scratching my head though not giving it much thought

Today is day 6 raw, including a two day juice fast, and I feel wonderful. I was finally able to spend some time alone and uncook mostly yesterday and part of today so far. I made mock tuna salad, marinated kale (I know many are against food grade hydrogen peroxide to "cook" their greens in the dehydrator, but that's what I did and it works), spicy "cheesy" kale chips, regular kale chips with a tahini dressing, brownie holes, "chocolate" mousse (still finding the right texture and will probably add an avocado to do the trick), Brazil nut milk and zucchini pasta. The nut milk will come in handy during the week when I need a nice fruit smoothie, YUM! I think all of that ought to hold me for this week (laughing). Have a great Sunday everybody!

    That sounds good Shel....choc. mousse.

I had a weird kinda day. Went to work, then came home early, did some shopping, laundry, etc.

Had a couple of smoothies, apples, bananas, nuts. Not a sit-down meal all day or evening. But I'm o.k. with that. Not hungry, just relaxed right now.

Everyone is doing so well. I wish all of you a peaceful raw evening,

    Bonnie

well well well, welcome detox! Headaches on and off all day, feeling flu-ish with cold sweats.. lovely. LOL! My throat is sore, and im coughing up lots of nice things.. gross.

I know this is a good sign, I am getting rid of some bad stuff, and I need to embrace this discomfort i am in. It's only going to last so long and I will start to feel free again.

Today i had an apple for breakfast (literally no appetite today), I had a small-ish salad for lunch with diced up broccoli, beet, cauliflower, kale, romaine and spinach. I also had a few olives and drank plenty of coconut water while at work today... I was more thirsty than hungry. Tonight I finished my guac from lastnight, and I think I may munch on a few cold grapes tonight to ease all these flu-like symptoms.

Does anyone get indigestion and heart burn while detoxing? This is definitely new for me. Well, I hope tomorrow is more bareable. hmmph.

and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind:
and God saw that it was good.

Hmm, no never experienced heart burn while detoxing. Unusual

Does anybody else only feel good on a really low GI diet?? As soon as I eat sugar my raw euphoria-energy feeling zaps away and I also stop experiencing detox. This happened after my choco-banana shake, the cocoa wasn't raw though so maybe that was it too. But this seems to happen every time I eat fruit after going 2-3 days without it, I eat it, and all of my good vibes and detox symptoms go away and I then experience a feeling of depression, anxiety, insomnia all night and nightmares when I go to sleep.

    Anyways on that note

I had a quite nice energy/euphoria buzz going on through the day. Very mildly but there, until I drank that shake, but that was really nice.

    Hmmmm..
As weird as it sounds, I really, really wish I was detoxing right now. I had an emotional detox yesterday and felt soooo good today because of it. Oh how I miss thee...

    B: salad w/ pumpkinseed dressing
    L: Almond mylk
D: Choco banana shake w/ strawberries

Yeah, I'm not feeling too great at the moment if you can tell, kind of a miserable post, regret eating the sugary shake now!

Wow! I feel horrible. Something really messed me up. Either i'm allergic to cocoa or I had a really bad reaction to sugar. I feel on the edge of a panic attack!

Hey. A lot of people react badly to raw cacao. it's pretty potent. many people avoid it completely. i eat it on occasion. hope you're feeling okay. maybe drinking some water might help?

Ditto on the hypothyroidism -- hate it... But it sounds like everyone is doing really well - and that's great! EscapeArtist - hope all is now well with you - please let us know.

On the bright side! My books finally came in!! Yay!! and I have my dehydrator too. Yesterday, I bought a mandolin and a spiral slicer - hope they both work. Mandolins can get really pricey! Wow - some were upwards of $100.???? I spent $20, reduced from $29, so I hope it's okay.

Anyway, I would probably say that I'm about 99 or 98 percent raw now - coffee is gone, yay! i threw in some balsamic vinegar on my salad - so I guess I am not quite 100% yet - but pretty darn close

I have to go to Florida on Wednesday for 10 days, so I'm worried about what to do. I am going to make some leathers, crackers, and pieces of dried fruit to munch on - and maybe some cider vinegar for salads... not sure what to do. I looked up raw restaurants in Sarasota, but it looks like the only one I could find is now closed - but they have a whole foods so I'm kinda psyched about that.

I may have lost a few pounds too, but I think my thyroid might prevent fabulous weightloss... oh well. I'm not too bad at 135 but I'd rather be 115-120...

I have to say that raw doesn't seem that hard to me. In fact, it really suits my lifestyle. I hate sitting down for big meals - no time, I would much rather graze all day - so this is pretty cool! Tonight I'm going to try the pasta with tomato sauce out of the book - can't wait to try the slicer!

anyway, looks like everyone is going full speed - and how cool is that!

Yes! That stuff is highly addictive too! It has only been about a week since I began raw and over about 2 days I'd stopped at a health store and a restaurant that sells raw foods for carryout. I try not to buy cacao or cacao products except Rawvolution bars, but I figured it was alright these times. Well, I got a raw chocolate pie (one slice) one day, then a day later (didn't want to fall off so early on being out...tired, hungry and irritable) bought this raw chocolate mousse (along with an entree, of course). Now, after eating those two things with cacao in it I'm sitting here thinking about making a raw chocolate pie and craving more cacao! It could just be my personality, I don't know.

Years ago when I didn't know any better I used to make a cacao, banana, mint and nut milk smoothie every day, until I realized I couldn't sleep at night. That's when I stopped buying the stuff. It's pretty potent! For me once in a while is good, but not every day or every week. I'm holding off on making the chocolate pie too. Well, it was actually going to be tart size, but still. :-)

Another day of not eating much. Still getting headaches, and the sore throat is wearing out it's welcome. Today I had coconut water and grapefruit/pineapple juice this morning in hopes to relieve someof the cold symptoms. Definietely not as congested. I am also breaking out in funny places, like my back which i NEVER do.. (keeps reminding self this is worth it....)

Lunch was a giant salad, and a bowl of grapes.

Haven't had dinner yet, still feeling full and not much like eating today.. pretty much ate because I knew I should.

I'm hoping once this detox cold passes I will start feeling the energy back again. I think my body needs the much needed rest, so I've been laying around and taking lots of naps.

Runraw, I doubt a little cooked apple will slow the weight loss :P

Blackkat you're doing great through detox! I can't wait to witness the glorious energy that will just radiate out of you after this

Thanks guys. I'm not feeling much better than yesterday. I couldn't sleep all night with the feeling so I slept from 10am-1pm. Definitely allergic or just very sensitive to cocoa. Have felt extremely anxious and depressed all day. As I said before, feels like being on the verge of panic attack all day. It's no 10pm and despite being tired from 3 hours of sleep last night I still feel this way and can't sleep !! I'm really taken aback from that reaction. I think you're right, more water will help. I only had like 1 glass all day

I comfort ate all day, raw whatever I wanted, just so I wouldn't try and eat cooked food to cover up this horrible feeling. Don't mind that, i'm proud that I didn't eat cooked food because normally feeling this bad I would do anything for a distraction.
