I managed to find an organic farmer in our area, and just took delivery of our first box of organic veggies! He's tailored it specifically to what I asked for and I have two types of kale, carrots with tops, onions, herbs, beetroot with tops and goodness knows what else ..... so much goodness :-) Now I just have to clear some space in the fridge to get it all in :-)

Good job on day 2 of your transition Linpara, you are doing a fabulous thing for yourself!

    Tiggerbounce, 18 cents/pound bananas :O That's amazing!!!

I'm back to this challenge. I'm actually wanting to do a 100 day challenge, because I've been transitioning now for 2 years and I feel like if I am to go 100% there isn't a reason to go back. Unless of course I decide to go back to 95% or something. I can say that I've been about 80% raw this last month, which is still really good but I didn't get to doing 100%. Started the challenge yesterday and i'm on day 2, also! Not doing any restrictions for this one, no low GI or anything, just eating what I want to eat, it just so happens I only want to eat raw now. Hope I stick to it this time but even if I don't, I feel alright on high-raw too.

B: Tiny juice pulp "wraps" (originally juice pulp crackers w/ flax seed and seasoning, put in the oven at 100* w/ the door open but took them out when they were flimsy but held together like mini-wraps, it was too hot in there) w/ avocado and cucumber.
    Green juice

L: Almonds milk (first time making it! Loved it with vanilla stevia and cinnamon mmm!)

Dinner will probably just be a green juice with some random creation cookies that are forming right now

Lots of newer rawbies!!! Yeah!!! Keep up the great work. It is sooo worth it. I am feeling better than I have in 2 yrs. It's only been about 40-44 days of eating 99.9% raw (can never be totally sure). I will be blogging in the next few days about it. Have to get some sleep right now though. Been up for 18 hrs.....which is unheard of for me, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, etc.

Just made a huge spring mix/spinach/cuke/red onion/dill/mustard seed/celery/sliced almond salad for dinner. Put it back in fridge and grabbed my huge freshly picked golden delicious apple. Yummo, yummy, bam and wham!! That good.

    Peace and nite-nite

thanks so much EscapeArtist! I am still plugging away, but painfully ignorant about what to do - so I probably don't belong here yet - I just re-red the moderator's beginning post. I need some encouragement - but mostly, I need knowledge - so I guess I should just drop out of this discussion for now... My big problem is coffee and eating out) - but I won't go on because I know it's not allowed. Hopefully, I'll see you guys next month, or the month after...ciao;D.

    Hi all,

Bonnie, I hope you got some rest and linparda....at least you're out here trying to do something vs. just sitting there.

I'll be joining the Raw Challenge starting tomorrow. I've been away for a while and always come back to raw, as it really helps me reset my eating habits and is a a wonderful detox, without feeling like I'm depriving myself! So, today I'll be cleaning the kitchen and prepping it, then doing some meal planning. Looking forward to getting to know all of you. I'll check back in later. Have a great day and Happy Rawkin'!!

Lin, looking forward to seeing you around next month. I find that it can be more helpful to ease into things, so it is good that you are trusting the instincts that tell you to gain a bit more knowledge first. Coffee is a big one, if you are having trouble eliminating it i'd suggest finding some alternatives that are less acidic and addictive. I hear green tea and yerba mate are both slightly alkaline, if not only slightly acidic. They are both caffeinated though, maybe you could start with that and then move to decaf? You can always still use this forum for support! Take care!

Ahwww, linparda please hang around here at least and get really informed and motivated!! Read Alissa's book and DVD first, then just keep going from there. Many raw books out there, and you tube videos galore on the subject. We'll be here waiting for your posts again. Good-luck.

Shel, welcome back. Glad to have as many raw-bies as possible. We could also learn from you as this is not your first go around with raw food diet. What works.....what doesn't.

I am having a super-green smoothie and some blueberries right now ( i know it's kinda late to eat, but I got home late from work and the gym.)

Will write more on Wednesday when I have a day off to myself.

    Peace, Bonnie (who loves blueberries)

felt like a juice fasting day today, food is and was not appealing

I had a bowl of sprouted mung beans,
Abouuttt... 1/2 gallon of green juice

feeling flu-ish and fever-ish and ow, just got hit with a headache... That's a good sign. I love when detox is INTENSE. The more intense it is the more I appreciate it and am able to stay in it. If it can't get worse than today it can only get better! (except it can get worse than today because today is not so bad but you get the point ;P)

It's a weird thing to say but I like having detox fevers. When I feel like I have a fever and i'm really week, and I can just crawl into bed and feel coooomfy.

Oh by the way, today is Canadian thanksgiving! And so in about an hour i'll be sitting around a thanksgiving feast detoxing with my green juice. I think eating little /fasting is a nice way to celebrate thanksgiving if you don't want to go the other extreme :)

thanks Bon, EscapeArtist, Shel! Thanks so much. Me Too Escape Artist, yay! I feel like I'm getting sick;D -- I've been through enough detoxes to know the feeling well! YAY! Really, in the past week, I've come from hating vegetables to loving them. I already feel much better - even with a few inconsistencies. My dehydrator is coming today! Yay!! But I still have no idea where my book/cd from Alissa are coming... I should probably call. Maybe I can stay if I promise not to talk of my misses? You guys are the best;D. I am so psyched to do this - and really, I have a big juice in the morning, some oatmeal, usually I have a big salad for lunch, and another for dinner. I do have gluten free bread if I have an avocado sandwich - and I think that's not allowed... not sure - but that should be solved when I get my dehydrator.

Anyway, just sitting here, waiting to get sick...lol - and having a blast;D. Thanks you guys!

    Hi Bonzer,

May I ask, what's a super green smoothie? I bought Garden of Life's Perfect Food RAW (which says it's a RAW Organic Super Food) and I have been adding about a half of a scoop to my beets with tops, carrots, apple, celery, and cucumber juice - is that what you mean by SUPER?

Also, hubby-o-mine just bought some raw nuts from Publix. I am always suspicious of larger corporations but the label says "Organic Cashews RAW"... it also says that they are packaged in a facility that processes soy, milk, yadda, yadda, yadda... you get the picture. Can I assume that these are really RAW? I see nothing about pasteurized, or anything else...

I actually mean "My super green smoothie". It's tailored to my specific needs.

    *1/2 bunch of brocolli (lungs)
    *1 tsp kelp powder (thyroid)
    *1 tsp turmeric (inflammation)
    *2 frozen bananas (potassium)
*1 handful pineapple chunks (bromelain...good for inflammation)
*1 handful blueberries or strawberries (anti-oxidents) and flavor
    *1 squeezed lemon (internal astrigent)

    ***substitutions: brocolli/cabbage/cauliflower
    pineapple/mango/peach
    lemon/lime/orange

For me it helps with: Asthma,COPD,Hypothyroidism,Arthritis, etc.
