Default Starting back on the journey...

So here I am, plagued with acne, PCOS, a multitude of allergies and other stuff... I have tried raw vegan diet before and it worked wonders - my acne was going away, I got back to my normal weight, my hormones were getting back to normal. And then I fell off the wagon. And to this day I eat a lot of raw foods, but can't find the strength again to get back to the routine. It's a really low point for me and I feel like crying. It's so silly, I know - all the evidence is there: the only diet that gave me heaps of energy and helped me recover from illnesses is raw food. So, is there anybody who is stuck in the same place as I am and is trying to get up, dust off and try again? Maybe we could help each other out.

This is very understandable. We are so inundated with processed food commercials and people spouting their goodness and let's face it, when we are on a non raw diet, it seems to taste good at times. I think we just have to focus on today.

I have been raw for a while now, but I've also been not raw and half raw and wannabe raw. And I can only say that I'm going to be raw today. I don't know what tomorrow will bring. I hope I will be raw, but life is life, ya know? I think key is not to beat ourselves up and embrace what each day brings. If we have a day where we eat something we feel we shouldn't, then we just accept ourselves where we are at that moment and move on from there.

I have found for me that when I was not raw, I was so depressed all the time and then I ended up eating all sorts of things that were not great options, which in turn made me more depressed. Be gentle with yourself. Just think about this moment and this day. Don't go further than that. When you get hungry today, do your best to choose something raw. If you aren't able to, accept yourself where you are and try again. Every piece of raw food you consume is a step toward what you desire as a raw foodist. It will come.

    Take gentle care

Thanks adobegirl! I really needed that! You are right, I should take it easy and think about the present, not worrying too much about tomorrow. You've made me smile :)

Hi adobegirl! I'm right there with you, falling off the wagon despite all the benefits that I see so clearly!
Maybe-if you're up for it we could team up, exchange e-mails or FB or something, to keep encouraging each other and keep each other accountable :)

    Lots of love,

    Hey Chincha,

I haven't noticed anybody replying to this thread, didn't get an e-mail :/ How are you getting on? I'm slowly getting back on track - actually a very severe break-out on my face motivated my tremendously... Had tons of crackers with cheese (gluten, gluten and more gluten), and I'm still recovering from spots... But they say sometimes you must learn the hard way.... So anyway I'm doing green smoothies in the morning, eating loads of bananas, apples, tomatos, spinach, avocados... pretty much anything I can get raw ;)

    Hope you are doing ok!
