Default How to eat Garlic Mustard Seed raw?

    Can you juice it?
And can you juice the rest of the Burdock plant? ie aside from the root.
Getting into wild food eating and could not find answers to these questions with google searches.

take a look for copies of "food for free" by richard mabey very handy.

He says that the young stems may be cut, peeled of their bitter outer skin and eaten raw in salads so juicing should be fine. Taste is akin to cucumber with fennel notes.

The seed of Garlic Mustard/Jack by the hedge is probably best suited to sprouting. The leaves finely chopped in salads are good especially if the plant has been grown in moist, sweet soil. Very bitter otherwise.

Hi Georgina - so do you know if one can juice the leaves? Or only the stems?

Thanks so much for your input.

I don't know specifically about the leaves but there would be much more juice in the stems. Reading between the lines I would say the leaves are very bitter. The root is what is most commonly used of course - very nice in salads etc.

    Succulent thistles are good juiced.
