    Default Grounded Flaxseed

Okay, a few of us are beginners at preparing raw dishes. We have a recipe, which a few of us have tried (I haven't yet, waiting for instructions).

One said you just grind the Flaxseed and use it.

Another said to soak them first.

Another one said she soaked hers and then spent 2 hours trying to clean the glue like stuff off of her equipment.

Do I soak them first, let them dry and then grind them? Do I just grind them without soaking (I heard they have to be soaked due to some enzyme inhibitor).

Please advise. I would like to make this soon. As it is I may have to replace some of my fresh ingredients as they have sat in my frig for a few days already.

    Hi!
Don't be that afraid of the inhibitors!
    Certainly not with flax!
It will do you no harm when you grind them straight away!
I always do it like that.
    Bye bye!

    Hi Helen,

It depends on the recipe as to what you do with the flax seeds. If the recipe just says flax seeds, they are usually soaked first. If it calls for ground flax seed, then you do not soak. What recipe are you making, and what does it say regarding the flax?

    Thanks Elke & Allison :)

The recipe just says ground flax seed.

So I'm not going to soak, just grind them :)
