To cold press or to not
I am trying to figure out which juicer would be the best on the market to buy. I would like one that helps keep the nutrients of the fruit and veggies and one that I can make juice that day and not have to worry about making more during the day. All the research that I have come across is a few years old. I'm wondering if anyone has any recommendations regarding what kind of brand of juicer to get and point me in the right direction towards newer research. Thank you!!!!

It depends on what kind of produce you plan to juice most often, and whether or not you want your juicer to do other things as well as make juice.
My two favorite juicers are, Omega Mega Mouth, and the Omega Nutrition Center.
The Mega Mouth is the highest yielding centrifugal juicer on the market, it works best on hard produce like celery, carrots, cucumbers and things like that. It will juice leafy greens, especially if you ball them up tight before putting them in the feed shoot, but if you plan to juice a lot of leafy greens, this may not be the juicer for you, if you plan to juice wheatgrass, this is definitely not for you as it can't do it. The Mega Mouth, like all centrifugal's; is pretty noisy but works very quickly, you can be drinking your juice in 5 minutes. Also, the Mega Mouth only has one function and that is making juice.
The Omega Nutrition Center is a single auger style and will juice wheatgrass and leafy greens pretty good, as well as juice carrots and all the hard produce too, though maybe slightly less efficient on carrots and celery compared to the Mega Mouth. It's relatively quiet so you could juice early in the morning and not disturb those you live with. It has a smaller feed shoot than centrifugal's so produce will need chopped up more, and the machine runs slower, so both these add to the time it takes to make a juice.
As well as making juice, the Nutrition Center will homogenize and make nut butters, frozen fruit sorbets (the amazing banana ice cream), purees, pasta shapes, grind coffee, make really easy sauerkraut and more.
The Nutrition Center runs slower so many people think this means it preserves more nutrients than the likes of the Mega Mouth. Though I'm not sure there's been any research done to test this.
There isn't really an absolute best juicer, and there are more styles of juicers other than the one's I described. Though the above two juicers are my favorites.
If you just want to make juice, the get the Mega Mouth, however, if you are into or are getting into raw food as a whole, get the Nutrition Center for the extra functions you'll end up wanting.

I recommend the Greenstar. It juices everything - fruit, veggies, greens, wheatgrass. It is a masticating juicer, which juices slowly, so you can juice in the morning and drink the juice all day. The juice is wonderful, and the remaining pulp is very dry. It homogenizes as well, so you can do ice creams and nuts and things. It is very quiet compared to a lot of other juicers. I've used a Champion, Hurom, & Breville, but I definitely prefer the Greenstar.
There are lots of discussions on this board about juicers, so you will be able to find lots of information here.
Cheers
Terry
