I'm Back!
I started on this thread eating 100% raw in April but I dropped out for awhile but continued to eat at least 80% raw. My problem is I have extensive dental work underway with braces, removing teeth, etc and has been very difficult from an eating standpoint. For a good part of the time I had to restrict myself to liquids only. But Friday I received a temporary bridge that is allowing me to chew again. I had my first apple in almost a year and a half. Yesterday I made some raw crackers and I am in heaven. I was eating salads but it was so difficult and would take me forever to finish. So I would like to join the challenge today and get back on track. Everyone here is such an inspiration.

I'm in ...
Am on day 24 of my first 30 days raw - and would love to join you all here.
Just got around to blending up my first green smoothie yesterday - and another today! So tasty - and this morning when I woke up for the first time ever - I actually felt hunger. I have always had to force breakfast down, and this natural feeling of hunger was amazing.
I am LOVING raw - you can probably tell
-
having supper of tomato slices with asparagus and tender stem broccoli marinated in a honey dressing with dill
-
sounds good Georgina! Tomatoes out of the garden are splendid as all heck!! Your dressings always sound so yummy.
I am home after a long day. Work 8-5, then 2 gym classes back to back. Now I am making my salad and smoothie for work tomorrow.
Tonight it's watermelon wedges and grapes. I know, I have a simple, plain palate.
You have a great raw night everyone!
Peace, Bonnie

It was pretty good - the broccoli worked out better than the asparagus; broccoli softens more.
Sitting at my desk now having had half a melon, a fig and a banana. Cycled in and only got a little bit wet. By this afternoon the weather should be ok again which will be as well because the brakes are still not wet-weather brakes!

I've been incorporating more chia seeds in my raw diet and love the way they fill me up and keep me going all day. I picked the last of my tomatoes from the garden yesterday and I'm starting to stockpile the last of my kale. We are due for our first frost. I start everyday with a green smoothie with coconut water, watermelon rind, banana, pineapple, strawberries, maca powder, wheatgrass powder, kale, gotu kola, chia seeds and coconut oil.
Lunch: Chia Granola: Almond milk, 3 tbsp chia seeds, cinnamon, stevia, diced apples, diced kiwi, diced cantaloupe. It gels into a wonderful filling pudding.
Snack: 2 crackers with nut butter
Dinner: Salad with romaine lettuce, red peppers, cucumbers and a raw teriyaki dressing.

I've got as far as buying chia but actually using it. How much almond milk do you use with it?

lucy - one way to get them to drink green smoothies --- add cacao! amazing what a little bit of chocolate, bananas, throw in a few strawberries and agave will do to a green smoothie! That's how I'm getting my hubby to drink green smoothies now!
okay my Rawbie family... I'll be gone until Saturday but I wanted to check in before I take off. I am performing at the 'Kapuna' Hula Festival (kapuna is hawaiian for our respected elders, senior citizens...) in other words - it's a bunch of us older peeps sharing our love of hula! Got my food packed... taking lots of stuff so I can make lettuce wraps - figured it was the easiest thing to prepare in a hotel room! Also gunna take nuts, simple things to munch on ... home made granola... stuff like that. I intend on having an ABSOLUTE BLAST!! Cool thing is - couple of my hula sistaz are pretty much high raw so we'll be sharing food and gourging ourselves on raw goodness!! lol!
RAWkon everyone!! Have an amazing week!!
AloooooHaaaaa!!!

I am soo jealous Starfire!! Hawaii, hula, and raw food!! What more could one ask for??
I am just happy to be raw today. Passed up a birthday cake at the office, pizza after my workout with the girls, omg.....sorry, I forgot. Can't mention non-raw food here.
With all the temptations, I kept saying "no thanks. I am on a healing diet per Dr.'s orders." They don't know my Dr.'s Alissa Cohen, Dr. Aleesha, Dr. MysticTree, Dr. Revvell, Dr. Starfire, Dr. Maggiesdaddy, Dr. Renee, Dr. Morse, Dr. RawFood Talk friends, etc.!!!!!!!!
Thanks for posting this challenge for 30 days. It sure was a challenge today! But I loved my figs, grapes, nectarines, bananas and salad! I chose to eat raw today. How did everyone else do??
Peace and love, Bonnie

Bonnie - sounds like you resisted a LOT of temptation there - well done!
Now on day 26 - yesterday went fine, and starting to add in the green smoothies is definitely making a difference :-)
We've had very strong winds the last couple of days, but hoping to get out on my bicycle this afternoon, with a bit of luck.
-
Yeah amoux. I resisted alright. But I'm learning to use the words "chose to use raw" instead of "resisted tempting SAD food". It gives me more power when I 'choose' to do something.
I know, I play a mindgame, with myself, lol.
I had been doing green smoothies for the last 2 yrs. even when I'm not 100% raw. They are so nourishing, are'nt they?
It's early for me....7 am and I'm off from work today. I have a new found energy. Think I'll go get a banana/mango/raspberry smoothie now. (from my kitchen of course) Can't believe the biggest fast food chain in US is selling smoothies and saying how great for you they are. Ugggghhhhh!!!!
They are loaded with sugar! We need a healthy fast food restaurant with a drive-thru so we can get our raw smoothies.

Oooh that smoothie sounds good! Enjoy your breakfast - I'm about to make lunch, and there's a green smoothie with my name on it, just waiting to be made :-)
I love your idea of reframing the 'resisting temptation' to 'choosing raw' - that's a great tip, and I'm going to keep it in mind.
