mmmm those avos look good! Today was a good day. Went to family dinner and ate an avocado and tomato salad with fresh herbs, an avocado and tomato soup, and a green salad. Everyone else had ribs, potatoes, corn on the cob, and salad. I was all loud and cheery after dinner and they were tired and stuffed. Ha ha! Tomorrow is the first day of my new semester which means I'll be up @ 5:30 to go to work, will work an 8 hour shift, then home for a quick bite and off the school until 9. Loooong day. My sweetie is going to make me a raw dinner on all my school nights so that should help. I'm going to try making my lunch the night before too because working in a truffle shop/ restaurant is too much temptation without food to keep my full. I have found that apples are the best thing to keep cravings at bay. They keep me soo full. I got a bunch of free apples from my brothers backyard and they are just grand.
Your "brekky" sounds delish starfire! I will have to learn how to make almond mylk one of these days!
Everyone have a good night and I'll 'see' you all tomorrow!

Wow! I've never seen such a big avo. The ones I bought this afternon look tiny.
Nonetheless, I'm grateful I have avos to eat tomorrow. YUMZ!
Queenkel, your sweetie is REALLY sweet! What a luxury.
I celebrate my second day of fully raw with
green smoothie (papaya+carrot+greens)
salad (lettuce, cherry tomatoes and almond dressing)
2 coconuts
2 snakeskin fruits (I have no idea with they're called, they have
a scaly snake-like skin.)
Ani Phyo's mock tuna salad on cucumber and tomato with wakame
Tomorrow I have a work dinner/meeting at a Chinese vegetarian restaurant.
I doubt they have raw food and my hosts are looking foward to 'show'
me their entire menu. I want to keep raw but don't want to disappoint them.
Any suggestions?

Lychee ?
do they look like this?

Cycled home from work into a gale force, gusting wind which was very heavy going - especially on the up-hill stretches. A slight improvement from the morning cycling in to work where I got drenched by a constant, heavy rain and the contents of the gutter when a lorry sped past.
I rarely feel very hungry after a bike ride so I have just had some bananas with pureed mango over the top. I shall maybe have something else later. I might go soak some raw almonds in case I fancy nuts.

Oh my, Georgina. You need your ride back...no more downpours on you.
You have such a cheery outlook that I wish to emulate.
And Starfire, yes they are huge avacados. Would you believe I have never even tried one in my entire life?!
I need to stay more focused on this site. Everyone here is such a help. I have been eating soo much fruit this week. I feel better than I have in a long time. Went for a swim at my local gym tonite and did a spin class. Plus worked 8 hrs. Going night night now...after my plum (slurps).
Peace, Bonnie

Hi everyone, I got back from my camping trip. Had a wonderful time and stayed MOSTLY raw. The nonraw things were deliberate choices to rejoice with my 12yo son who caught his first fish! I have a ladies' retreat to go to this week and my birthday is this weekend. It will be a challenge for sure!

Getting back on the wagon after being off raw for over a year.

Hi Georgina,
it's not lychee. I just found it on the web. It's
called salak, from Indonesia.

Bonnie I can relate to you. I adore fruits and I can eat fruits all day.
But since I've been 'diagnosed' with candida, I have to cut sweet fruits
(She's kind enough to only ban sweet fruits like melons and mangos.)
Very very tough to cut fruits for me. I crave it.
But in a way it's good, coz a cheat for me now is a fruit instead of a cookie.
hahaha. We crave forbidden food.
It's only mid-day now, and I had
warm lime juice
jicama carrot beet tomato lettuce salad with almond dressing
dragon fruit + pasley + greens smoothie
Quite a lot of food. Somehow I feel hungrier than usual.

Didn't get wet coming in this morning and am hoping for a dry run this evening too.
Sitting at my desk eating melon.
-
Good to know you had a dry ride Georgina!
Denise, I thought candida was caused from too much starch?? Perhaps its sugar in any stage or form, lol.
I started out today with just pineapple chunks. Heard its good for my arthritis, etc.
Next I had a dandelion/banana/turmeric smoothie. It needed stevia,,yuck to the turmeric!
Peace, Bonnie

Wow, no offense Bonnie but that smoothie does sound a little yucky. Speaking of stevia, too much is definitely not a good thing~! Didn't realize we've got big plant of it growing on the deck (rejoice!!), but even 4 small leaves of it is waaay too much in a drink. Still prefer my raw honey I think. Having been doing ok on the low-glycemic, and not even craving sweets! Until now
For some reason fruits are not calling to me, even though we've got apples and plums growing all around (maybe I had too many). ANyways, while the rest of my household was having white crusty bread with melted cheese, and peanut butter and chocolate cereal (for dinner? I know!?) I decided why not treat myself and make a cake. Just because. And I had to share the recipe because it's too amazing to keep a secret:
Base: food process about 1 cup nuts and 1 cup soft dates
Filling: - 3 avocados
- 1/2 cup coconut oil (and it doesn't taste too coconutty surprisingly)
- 1/3 cup raw honey or other sweetener (adjust to taste)
- juice of one whole lemon or lime
Put the crust on your plate or mould (if using a mould, pour the filling in first, smooth down, freeze, then add the crust when you take it out to serve), pour on the filling, then freeze until solid. Omg I just died and went to heeeaaaven..... Top with sliced fruit like kiwis, apples, or really anything goes well with this, I imagine raspberries would too. Or just dig in to the creaminess!!
I hope you love it as much as I did. I am proud to say I had at least 1 or 2 full days without chocolate (baby steps...). Other than that, today I had
B - Sesame coconut cinnamon and raw honey halvah (it was chilly here, needed some warming food!)
S - Plum, grape, spinach and celery top juice....not as bad as it sounds
L - Sheep sorrel, sprout and cabbage salad with apple-ginger dressing
Dinner/dessert: cake!
Bring on the sweets again! Can't live without em :)
-
Wow Starfire, I can't believe those avocados!!! Where do you live? Sounds like a great setup :)
-
just got up. It's miserable dark and looks set to rain. Grrr.
no idea what to have for breakfast but will probably have fruit at my desk - ought to eat something before I set off for the cycle to work. Blah!
-
got here dry and exhausted. Have had 3 small bananas topped with blackberry puree and honey (cos the blackberries were very tart).
-
So far so good!!
Yesterday I went out to dinner with some vegan friends, and I felt totally okay eating my grapes while they had cooked foood and desert.
Today I had a dandelion carrot and tomato juice, an almond mylk banana, hemp protein and vanilla smoothie, about 15 figs, a few handfulls of cashews, and a cucumber.
For dinner I'll have a green salad with lentil sprouts avocado and nori.
Maybe some banana ice cream too.
